I don't know how many people here know the Kilrathi Dreadnought, but here are some pics.
The ship itself is quite far away from beeing finished and its more something for looking if its possible to make a such huge ship in FS.

The smaller ship beside the bigger one is only ~2km long. The Kilrathi DN is about 22km long and it take a hole minute until this ship is completly destroyed.
(until the explosion ani ends)

Now why is the Vesivius carrier not pummeling the Dreadnought with its mass quanities of Heavy Laser turrets? :D

Seriously, with a ship that size, it could stand some more rounded surfaces. I've never seen the---oh! It's Kilrathi! I thought it was NARN! Oh, then, well, I guess it's ok;)

The Vesuvius is firing, but I was to far away so the laser aren't visible, maybe if you look quite close you will notice some small yellow shoots.

@ Sheepy and @ Unkown Target
I know that its grey, boxy and I have said it just a test if FS can handle a such big ship

@ Shrike
It has AMG and Laser turrets, maybe we will also add a Capship torpedo luncher.

22km? don't worry, I have a 120km long ship that works, it has turrets, no bug.

Wow someone not involved in our WC mod that knows more about the vesuvius then me...respect.
About this 120km long thing (is it a small moon made of metal with a quite strong beam in front of it?) do you have a screenshot?
About the weapon loudout of the ships, we will try to keep the game playable, the Vesuvius would be coverd with guns and you can't get trought the defence of that ship..or any other cap if we would give every ship the weapons it should have. I think we will stay closer to the cames...
Beside that, where have you found this specs for the Vesuvius?

2) nah, sorry, I made it for someone else, and it's kept hidden until he decides to show it.
3)I have a 3km long ship with 71 turrets ( the duat ), works fine, all his about weapon and mission balance

Obviously your bolts are not long enough.  AMG's should be like 80 length in FS2 terms :)

As far as I know, the WC4 Vesuvius was armed with only Heavy Laser turrets...that used the sound effect from the Ion Cannon on your fighter in the cinematics and standard laser turret sound in the game.  Seemingly the idea being that you pummel your target with a series of high energy ion blasts to make the shield crumple...instead of the big blast anti-matter that puts holes in things.

Nibbled to death by Ion's or blown apart by AMG Howitzers :)

We will make every ship of the WC Series including the Behemoth.
If you mean a complet Behemoth (the one in WC3 was not complet) its something we have to talk about.

The bolds are long enough, its just that the viewing point it quite far away and the DN is so big that everything looks like little insects.
I will see if I could make a better pic of a Battle.
About the armament, I think we will use a mixture of Heavy Laser Turrets for defence and AMGs again Capships.
Also some Captorps, its an  old but proven weapon. It think that would come closest to the game, even if Origin missed to config there ships right....What was that from Intel the Kilrathi Carrier has no AMGs? Who ever told such **** should be ......! Same goes for other differences between the book, the game and the Novels.

True enough...you have to walk your own path.  WC3 was pretty good about the AMG's being assigned to the right turrets....WC4 pretty much did away with AMG's all together.

My fav missions were when Confed destroyers and cruisers engaged Kilrathi counterparts.  So many lasers shooting and blasting things apart.

Yes Venom we will also male the Wasp, but the booster is a problem...maybe with some coding work something could be done.
But at the moment we are concentrating on Wing Commander 2 and 3 ships, because they are needed for our Campain.

nope, I've done nothing.
As for helping, i'd really like ( WC has a special meaning to my gamer's heart :p ) but really I don't think it's possible. Maybe a fighter or a bomber ( I always liked the crossbow ) but really, I'm too busy otherwise.

The stats for the Vesuivus at WC:CIC is made up...or taken from some book (that made it up).

The actual game Vesuivus...the one you really shoot at...has a bunch o turrets (the number currently eludes me but I did count it out once) that are all the same type.  Just one weapon type....

Now thats pretty boring so I'm glad you guys are adding extra fun to it as well...but in terms of the straight in game stats...nope...just one laser turret type (heavier than the standard version tho).
