Wow, I just spent about half an hour reading this entire thread and the idea sounds lovely. However, the problem is shifting from the StarFox that we know and love to be terrain-based to space. I think it's a bit too much work to even TRY to put effort into making the worlds of SF. And even if we do make the worlds for SF, then comes the extra things like how the world itself reacts. Let's take Solar for example. That thing has waves of lava lashing out at you and baddies springing from its depths to attack you (of course we know that it shouldn't be lava, and it really shouldn't even be splashing like water at you, but it's SF). We then would have to contend with that and getting our baddies to work the way they should, with and without the world that they occupy.
Anyway, I'm thinking we should all shoot realistically. Getting all the models in-game is doable. Then, if we need to get a story going, we have to work in space, which is not that hard, but still has its downsides as we only have sectors x, y, and z to work with. I don't know, just don't wanna see another good project die. I think I will lend a helping hand to this project, but I have to be able to first. I will brush up my FRED skills and see what I can do after we get several ships working; I'll help as a storymaker. Let's make this a project that won't die.
