Soo..... out of all the huge-***  badasses there are out there... the Echnida takes the cake? Unless you count those planets.....

Speaking of planets: I created a 200km long/tall simple sphere with TS1, and put my fighter within a couple kilos of it. First, it says "too close to Planet. Taking damage" and my screen flashes red. Then, I gave my ship afterburn of 10,000 mps and put it a hundred clicks away from planet. I blew up "collided with Alpha 1" ???

Another thing: for some funny reason, when I collide with my TS1 made ships, I go right through them. Some ships, I can just go through like clipping, but others, I get "stuck" there. I can use afterburn, but it doesn't register any speed. I can't target anything, and I can't go anywhere (can't get our of object). I can still move, as I can see the sun that's there in every mission. What's going on?

Undocumented feature.  I believe there's a flag that makes a planet like a planet, and you must have tripped it.  Someone must know how to turn it off.

You ran away from battle and Command executed you for desertion  .  The battlefield has boarders, by setting your afterburner so high, you flew right over them, so the game stopped you.

I can't help with TS1 though.  You'll have to ask someone else.

1) to avoid the planet pb, don't call the planet "planet" lol

2) the battlefield is a cube of (I believe) 60km (l/w/h)

3) try converting your cob with another converter: if you converted with cob2pof, try with PCS or vice versa

Yeah, I called the sphere planet.pof...

Where can I get those other converters? Volition Watch? HLP?

Thanks for the advice.

Yes, can someone please give the references for all this "Culture" stuff? I've been encountering it all overe the boards, and no one has said anything about it besides various forms of "cool+powerful"...   Are they books, TV series, comics, what?

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

A series of books by Iain. M. Banks. They're basically a really advanced buch of d00ds. If I was on my home computer I'd point you to a Culture FAQ.

I don't get your point. The fact that there is a big ship in the background prevents you from fighting fighters? You'll have to explain me... When I have big ships, it's for the mood, the sceneray, how the mission looks, whateverer you want to call this. It's impressive to fight next to a big ship I think, it's more fun and original than fighting under a nebula'ish starscape...
