what`s your opinion on vadar_1's actions and the reaction of the admins on it? as a newbie,i'm just curious on how you guys react. and i just wonder, has this ever happenend before? i always thought the HLPBB was a place where you only did usefull comunity work, and didn't hack eachother.

Yes, it has happened before in isolated cases, all taken care of in similar ways.

And you're right - at 99.99% of the time HLP is just that. Practically everyone is friendly and will help you out instead of trying to harm you in any way. Unfortunately, this is the Internet - you can never be sure that you won't find some "bad apples" here and there. We do our best to keep the community as friendly and helpful as possible, though.

EDIT:  It's happened before, but as far as i know not in such a big case... he's been doing it for months, and not one of the admins suspected him.  it's only because he started changing my profile (and later on Knight Templars...) that i reported him.  i almost got banned for it, can you believe it, and the case was "dismissed"... but whadaya know, Sandwich kept checking, and we stayed in contact via email.  Then Styxx helped, and between the two of them... well... you have the results

Despite the "lack of proof".. we told what he was doing. And at least myself, had no reason to lie about it. Well either way, whats done is done and I'm just glad the Staff finally pulled through instead of letting him continure ****ing with me, stealth, and various other people.

Me neither, he seemed to have a grudge against a lot of people for no reason. Though he is a cracker and not a hacker. Hackers are people who try to get information through hacking and crackers mess with things etc and try to cause damage.

why didnt you just tell him to stop messing arround with your stuff and say that you would report him? big deal so he changed a thing here and there didnt kill your PC did he? or harm your life in any way he probobly just thought 1 it was funny wich it probobly was and he just tried out hes skills (gotta polish those vadar)

Yeah, well we didn't immediately think to look where we did, and every time he stopped after we tried something we figured the problem had been solved.  Plus, we didn't have any proof until recently.

We don't want to reveal the details, but rest assured that there's a reason why the work "hacker" is in italics on the announcement. It took longer than it's expected, but it's done now and we won't revoke the decision. Also, he was warned and we removed all internal access, but he kept trying to get back access through other means, which prompted the full banning.

And Stealth - sorry for the whole delay, but it's over now, let's try to just let it slide instead of *****ing about it. And vadar_1 won't be able to read this, ok?

What was the latest case that finally exposed him? I have heard people complaining about security problems with the internal forums for a while now, but that seemed like it was something wrong with the forums themselves.

lol, he will now become the infamous guy around here with all the jokes made on him, like what happened to some people on the VBB squadwar forum who were exposed as cheaters/hackers/etc. and whom everyone subsequently turned against...
