to continue an argument I and one of my girl friends (notice the space between the two words) had the other day, only without the girl :D :

Who makes the best cell phones, in your opinion.

My vote would go to Nokia. Mainly because all the other makers have only recently come to market (Motorola, Siemens, etc.), so most extra utilities are made for Nokia.

Erm, Motorola has been making cell phones since the things were invented. But I like Nokia stuff better anyway. Never used a Siemens one, nor a Sony one, though. Ericsson phones suck, they can't work right even if you're standing on top of a cell tower.

Nokia, my experience with them have been all good - they may be mass produced and marketed at every teen under the sun but my 3210 has served its purpose almost perfectly since I've had it.

I myself have a 7160, and I just love the matrix-style sliding cover in it. :D

(plus the big screen, the huge memory, the voice commands, the wheel control, etc. etc. etc.)

Edit: this is a pic of it:

Cell phones are tools of the Devil designed specifically to make it easier for annoying people to be irritating in movie theaters and to try to kill me with their huge-ass cars. I nominate whichever one induces cancer fastest.

  • Away in RL land. Back later.
I had a cell-phone. It's broke now. Don't know how that happened. Doesn't matter, though. I hardly used it.

Maybe something 3G-ish next year. :blah:

there are really very few 3g supportive networks out there, so I doubt its worth the cost.

Erm, yours may be. In what sense, anyway? I don't have any problems with it, it works perfectly, and I have truckloads of computer software to interface with it (from maintaining contacts to setting images and ringtones).

Allthough Nokia's so called Fashion Phones (3210... 3310) did reduce my respect for their products (I haven't had personal experiences on those though)... I'd still say that Nokia is the leader in Cell phone industries.

I have still an old 5110, and it works quite well :D
Habeeb it...

I'd say Nokia. One reason for that might be that I have only had a Nokia cellphone (3310).

How could you not make "Samsung" phones as one of the poll options?  i mean c'mon... even the website pictures are sexy:

heh... she's hot.

i don't believe they'd show a pic like that on the website... cool.

Anyhow, i vote my phone... SCHa500

You name it... it can do it.
Internet, Email, text messaging, customizable sounds, rings, backgrounds, modes such as "airplane mode", voice-activated, caller-ID, two-screens, downloadable games (java i think), downloadable ringers, MP3s, you name it... this phone does it all.

pity about the price tag, but anyhow.  it's a Sprint phone, it's new too... i've only had it for a few weeks now.

match this phone and i'll buy it

EDIT:  I'm thinking about 'upgrading' to this phone that looks just like this one except it's got a video camera on the back (with a flash and everything)... you can record movies, take pics (which you can send to other cells, emails, etc.) but this phone i have has a camera you can buy that is external (not as good, but oh well)... a built-in camera would be pretty neat ;)  not only could you use it for bad things (hehehehe ;7) but if you see something cool instead of not having a camera you just bust out your cell and take a pic... i like that

EDIT 2: The screen resolution is probably better than on your computer monitors
