A large bomber based on a concept pic. This is my first 100% modelled ship.

The EASD Nemesis, Redeemer Class Super Destroyer, 3.2km long, 50 turrets and is 80% complete. Made by me and a friend.

You ought to be very proud of that bomber. In fact, it's one of the best bomber models I've seen yet.

The Nemesis looks a bit like a reskinned Fenris on some REALLY strong steroids. Which is why it looks so damn cool.

Round off some corners on that there bomber, boy!

Nice work on both of 'em!

EDIT: 3.2km, eh? Does that make the radar dishes around 200 meters? !!!

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Hey Woomeister, KICK @SS!

And yes, 200 meter satelite dishes seems outragous doesn't it?

I'd rather go for fully detailed sets of smaller ones.  Like two clusters, one atop,  one on bottom.  Small antenae and then a dish or two.

But I'm not complaining at all!

Excellent stuff! I love the Nemesis! But change the name to a Greek God - keep with consistancy. I love this destroyer though! When can we have it?

It is the name of a Greek goddess: http://www.pantheon.org/articles/n/nemesis.html

What's wrong with 200m radar antennae?  Do you realize the kind of long-range resolution you could get with those things?  On the other hand, one of those antennae is larger than my VLBI frigate! (180m by the way), maybe they are a bit large
I told you that It would be done by November, well, mostly anyway...

I'm working on something new... shhhhh, it's a seceret.

Those... are... so cool... That bomber looks like a cross between a Herc and an Ursa, while Jabu is right - the Nemesis looks like a mega souped-up Fenris. Which is definitely a good thing.

THE HARD LIGHT ARRAY. Always makes you say wow.

Also a 200m antenna size would give a beam width of less than 0.01 degrees.

good long range resolution yes, but think of the scan pattern you would have to use to cover the whole sky. The dishes would have to spin at 6000 rpm just to cover a 10 degree band every second.
Anyway by the time of freespace all radar will use electronically scanned beams instead of mechanically scanned ones.

The Radar is 326m long.

It'll be released when I find someone to do all the path data for this and the rest of the Inferno mods missing paths.

Now that's sad, a kamikazi cruiser, slams into the radar dish, dish survives, cruisers' toast.

Actually to me, these ships both look like early V-T war craft...

The "Nemesis" looks like an Orion-Fenris hybrid, maybe an early cruiser or corvette.

The bomber looks like a good predecessor to the Medusa, if it had an Apollo-esque skin.

There is a point there.
Why would FS ships be using conventional radar devices?

I'd think they'd be using advanced forms of our Aegis radar systems.

Radar towers with spherest that cover each direction I could see...

Simple...  Radar resolution is a factor of your antennea size.  This is limited by physics, not technology.  Such an antennea using [conventional] phased array tech would consume a huge amount of internal ship space, hardly desirable.

Besides, there's nothing that says that it's not a phased-array system just because it's mounted on an external, steerable platform.
