Black bears are smaller than grizzlies, and not as badly tempered.  I think browns are bigger than blacks, but still smaller than grizzlies.

These were a pair of cubs, each was no bigger than a largish dog.

Yesterday a guy at church offered me a leather jacket free.  Apparently his father has given him several over tha past few years, and he doesn't exactly need them all.  So he asked me if I wanted one.  Being of a philosophical bent, I contemplated the offer for a good fifth of a second before giving a resounding yes.  He's bringing it next Sunday.
