Booyah! New GFX card.
Just thought you'd all like to know that I've just got a 128meg DDR Radeon 9000 Pro, with DVI and TV-Out. I got over 8000 in 3DMark, and thats BEFORE I updated the drivers.

Now I can't play Op Flashpoint without my jaw going through the floor.

ISPs generally give you some web space, check with yours.

I think my new GF4 Ti4200 actually beats that by a bit :p

How dare you?

And as for webhosts. yes there are plenty, but few offer remote linkage, preventing me from post pics straight to the board.

Anyway, it isn't as if Flashpoint looks particulalry amazing, just a vast improvment on how it was before.

What are you, an ubern00b? :p

Rename the file extention to .txt.  Then just embed it normally.  That, or actually do your own research.  Just google "Free Web Space" and look for a site that reviews em.  Read the reviews and pick whichever one you want.

Actually, the Radeon 9000 is one of the 4 vid cards I was looking at: GeForce 3 Ti200, GeForce 4 Ti4200, Radeon 8500LE, and Radeon 9000.

Go with the GF4 Ti4200.  The Radeon 9000 is just a redressed 8500.

That being said, ATi is in some deep ****!  http://www.descentbb.net/ubb/Forum20/HTML/003203.html

I already did get the Ti4200 :p
It's sitting in my new case, waiting for my old drives :)

And actually, in tests, the 8500 scores a bit above the 9000.

That may be true, but essentially it is an 8500, minus a few features which explains the performance drop.

well what about the Pro version, that I've got? How's that?

I got 8500 in 3DMark, which seems quite good to me.

Booyah!
Me too have a new video card ( well, just ordered it actually ).
I wanted  a radeon 9500 pro, but the 9700 had better results in all the benchmarks and was, surprisingly enough, cheaper :p
waiting for the beast now...

that's a good question. I'm in France, so it doesn't mean the 9700 was less expensive, and probably the 9500 pro was really TOO expensive.

After reading some Reviews of the new nVIDIA parade horse and also reading some posts over at the NV News Forums I am really happy I have a Radeon 9700 Pro.

I don't know what nVIDIA was thinking but this GeForce FX AKA the big Radeon 9700 killer is getting ***** slapped all over the place.

I also heard an mp3 of the noice this FX is generating with that vacuum cleaner on top of it and it's really anoying as hell.

nVIDIA used to deliver top notch products but my guess is that the hot breath in their necks from ATI made them make a few horrible mistakes with rushing the product to the consumers.

hem...

translation (yellow boxes ):
1) GeForce FX: for 399$, a powerful, strong and multipurpose 3D card!!
2)caccuum-cleaning, a bore?
3)GeForce FX!
4)recalcitrant dirt?
5) Karcher compatible!
6)works for PC too!!

ok, it's silly, but that resumes well what I've read everywhere:
the FX is really disapointing, and the fan makes so much noise it's incredible. to top it all, the vacuum-cleaner blocks access to other PCI slots :p

I'm a bit disappointed too. Guess I will look for R350 instead.

That is if nVidia, or the hardware vendors, don't pull some sort of rabbit out of the hat. The thing that really got me was the noise level  :blah:
