Borknagar - Colossus.

Simen Hestnaes has to be the greatest singer in rock/metal music today.

I always thought they were just a sideproject. will someone educate me?

Borknagar - Colossus.

first off, if you havent heard of ics vortex, shoot yourself, twice! before i get started its important to know that norwigian bands exchange band members more frequently than prostitutes exchange bodily fluids with their clients. there arent really any side projects. its not at all uncommon for the individual musicians to juggle 2 or 3 bands at a time. one of the reasons i like norwigian metal, it seems like they actually work for a living, unlike some of the more main stream bbands out there.

ok, in the beginning there was lamented souls, started back in 1991. it is (to the best of my knoledge) vortex's first band, it was a doom metal band. somewhere around the 1997 he hooked up with arcturus and did some vocals on La Masquerade Infernale as a guest musician. the lead singer for both arcturus and borknagar at the time was Kristoffer Rygg (aka garm, aka firy g maelstrom, aka trickster g rex, ect) around 1998 garm decided to leave borknagar to focus on arcturus and ulver, and sence vortex already worked with their former lead, and had proven himself a god damned awesome vocalist, he took over vocals for borknagar for the next 2 albums. after that vintersorg took over vocals for borknagar.

then in 1999 vortex joined the ranks of dimmu borgir, where he plays bass and sometimes contributes an awesome vocal piece (which is 90% of the reason i like dimmu) when they let him. vortex remains in dimmu till this day. then sometime around or before 2005 garm left arcturus to focus on ulver among other things, handing the band over to vortex. dispite the fact that anyone who cared hated the fact that garm was replaced in arcturus, vortex managed to make another arcurus album which kicked ass. which certainly sounds alot better than what garm is doing theese days, some crap that resembles queer emo (ask woolie).

i hpe that answers your question :D

Carrie Underwood - Before He Cheats

I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped-up 4-wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seats...
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires...

This is one of those songs that if any girl got up and competently starting singing it in karaoke, I'd be insta-turned on. :D
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!
