Welp, opinions?  And yes, it's supposed to have an organic look.  I realize it's far from perfect, but..well, I've seen worse.  ^^;

Alright!  Aside from the crest, are there any other serious comments or ciriticisms to be made?  --;

but the picture does look :ick like yo drew it just for insert word here

i think i understand what the "antenna" does. It being above the body the pilot uses it's antenna to enhance his pyschic power.

<<;;  I can redesign it to make it a bit sleeker.  The crest that as..  Aside from that, it isn't so much linked towards the Psycommu system as it is simply..an enclosed antennae for targeting and communication functions.  It's basically an elongated radome.  On a side note, being a Gundam, it does in fact have Gundanium armor.

Well..as stated, I was going for an organic look and shape to it, though I can definately see that..well..it doesn't look too mecha-ish at all.  >>  I was almost going for an Evangelion look with this, but wasn't sure quite how to pull it off..  Any suggestions as to how I might be able to capture such an effect?

Guyver was more of a coincidence than an influence actually, though I have seen the design.  If I remember correctly though, Guyver is more of a suit than an actual mecha.  ^^

well, seems you know the eva is'nt a mecha. alright, well, look at it: an eva is huge. would have normal human proportions, it could hardly look cool. so the eva is skinny, very skinny actually. with arms very far from the body, etc.
Anyway, that's not really my favourite mecha style.
on the one hand, I like american style mechas ( battletech, which funily enough stole many designs from macross hehe ), on the other end, japanese-mecha wise, I prefer realistic stuff like the mechas in patlabor or blue gender, rather than those gundam multicolored things.

Patlabor kicks ass.  ^^  I'm not too much of a fan of "American mecha".  I've always liked the humanoid designs (Though not anything like Mazinger or the like.  <<) myself...  As it happens though, I've been reworking the mecha for the past few days, and even given it a new name...  Coincidentally, it shares its name with one of Inferno's vessels.  Ciron.  It now, in my opinion, looks far more mecha-like, though I'm having trouble adding detail (armor plates, vents) that fit into the design well...

Hrmm....I've been playing with drawing Evas lately, and while I can't quite get the hands and some of the chest details right, I've got most of the rest of it more or less accurate in my opinion.  Lemme scan a few images in and let you see what I've got...

Well, after taking a look at some official images for comparison, I realized just how off I am.  I've got the basic structure nearly spot-on, but the details of it (shoulder "fin" size/location, eye size/position, how the shoulder and arm merge together, various other things)...I mean, you can tell it's an Eva, but it's not quite there.

Okay, anyways, here's a side profile of a possible head module.

This one here is a partial profile of the pilot of this Eva.  Notice the headset, which I cleverly inserted to cover up the embarrassment of a mouth and ear.

And here is the rest of the Eva.

I whipped up the third image about an hour after examining a few "real" pics I've got.  Much more accurate than the original.

Largeish figures I have real problems with because my tactic when drawing is to make it small and as detailed as my pencil lead allows.  So this last image, being nearly 2/3 an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, was a bit of a challenge for me.  But I think I've done fairly well.

Opinions?
