Just threw this thing together, it looks a lot like a deimos when it's all said and done, but I still am pleased with the end result.  It's textured to be a special ops frigate (black ops :D) but it really doesn't have a purpose at the moment.  And it's fairly low poly, so I might end up detailing it a little bit more.  My fleet already has a corvette, so it needs another special purpose, and a name.

Remove the wings, cause unless its also an atmosperic ship, they are kinda useless. They only provide a larger surface to fry with a nice beam.

or a nice place to mount a large beam ;)  Actually they are there because this design really needed something horizontal.  They were the last piece to be put on, and the reasoning is that they shield vulnerable parts of the ship from broadside beams.

Actualy, yes. Its more effective with having allround defense and weapons grid. Maybe not as "cool" looking, but I wouldn't really care about that in a fight.

Ow, and your second "Its a game" thingy. Even so, why nt try to make it as real as possible. Thats cool.

EDIT: Ow and I think wings are butt ugly on a space ship. Thats just because they are unpractical and rather dumb if you think about it. You can just as easily increase the mass slightly and cut of the wings. More effective as it gives you more room on the inside for reactors and stuff and thus more weapons.

Sorry, but I like things to be as close to reality as it can come. Just a matter of taste i guess.

Looks liek a yaht (sp?)

you should give it some window/lights textures if you are going to make it flat/smooth.

:yes: Stratcomm, love it.  The thick design would lend to the to the idea that it might have high amount of armour.  Give it a nice beam weapons package and call it a battlecruiser.  Maybe the GTBC Eclipse or something.:D

BTW, StratComm nice hull design, but recess the light panel on the front of the 'tower', nad it would look well armoured indeed.
