Attention: Future of your site is at stake
Its not a joke and maybe people should be madew aware so everyone is responsible. Im not trying to start any trouble or make any enemies nor let this degenerate into a spam war or flame war.

I want to simply say, we are on a Gamespy server. These are business people who want to make money.

They will not support pointlessness, spam, arguing or even maybe vulgar language.

When posting, try to keep in mind ur doing it on a business server. Not some fr-la-la webhost looking for a quick buck. Dont spam, dont flame, and try to be mature and responsible in your post. Restrain yourself from pointing out someone else is stupid, or ugly and just let it go man.

For the sake of HLP's existance on the Gamespy Servers. Just something that i found out today and thought maybe telling everyone will make them a little more responsible in their posting ways.

I know, im bad. I made mistakes and spammed a thread or two, even debated a little when i wasnt supposed to. So ill try with everyone to be a better HLP'er and give our fiar admins what they so need and deserve.

Peace.

Somehow I'm convinced that his opening statement is a joke...

I'll bet you the main gamespy forum has more spam than here, and content overweighs any spam present anyway.
Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. I'll take you and raise you $20 on that last bit. I've been there. For all of ten minutes before I got banned and never looked back, granted, but yeah. It's pretty bad.

Content used to overwiegh spam......anymore you can't even ask a question without being flamed for not knowing something.  And no, it isn't a joke.

Great, isn't it?

Actually, when I staged my invasion with a few other people (call it Fidel-style), we didn't get flamed at all. I think they were mostly trying to figure out what we were yelling at them for, but they seemed like a fairly nice bunch. Just... high-output. It was freaky. Make a post, and by the time you were done it'd be a full page ahead.

I respect you for having that opinion. However being as bad as them, doesnt guarantee they keep hosting HLP. I would rather back away from the line a bit then stand on the line and possibly be booted.

HLP is one of 2 places in the entire internet you can research FS2 and actually get straight answers. Is arguing, debating, flaming, or even reducing the problem in hopes ur assumption is correct worth possibly losing it?

I think not.

I love this place, after 2 yrs or more i still come here, and i still try and help whenever i can. If this place left. Freespace 2 would truely be dead for me. Atleast with HLP here and keeping it here (by being mature while giving opinions, rather then bantering how stupid someone is) I can go to bed at night knowing the best Space Sim to grace our lives and the best game community alive is still around and kicking. Even tho FS2 doesnt beat very strong, the beat it has is steady and sure. Let try and keep it that way.

Actually, he is right, this place is a veritable morgue compared to the main Gamespy forum, they don't shut down places for having a good deal of spam as well as useful information (go on any FPS "Planet" site), and even if this wasn't so, you can't get people to stop spamming by preaching at them. It'd be a wonder and require a lot of coordination of lots of different people to get them to stop at all. I've been there, I've seen that. This thread is as useless as any spam.

Course you could all spam over at Warpstorm since the Rift section is for exactly that and then have all your serious posting here.

*cough*

Sorry....I'm under orders to do that. Aheheh. :D

[color=66ff00]Gamespy is very aware that we are here. We of all the sites hosted had the biggest amount of files on the FTP server and GS was not happy hence we asked everyone to move their stuff to fileplanet.

There's nothing wrong with debating etc. but warez, pr0n and extreme and unnecessary swearing are not looked kindly upon by our venerable hosts. I for instance swear like a trooper in RL™ but not at all on the forums, have you actually ever spoken to someone from Ireland? We make up for the rest of the 'civilised' world. ;)

I don't swear here though because to some it's offensive, it's also not really necessary to make my point. Lastly minors visit here and this is not an adult forum or site and as such we must reflect that by restricting our more colourful language.

'nuff said. :)

Im sorry but why are you trying to degenerate what im saying as "useless and futile". Not in those words, but what is quoted above is inferring that gamespy has it worse then we do, and they dont care about little old us.

With that attitude and another 30 guys with ur same attitude this place will eventually go down.

Is it that hard to respect the admins? Is it that hard to just be good and try to make this place last, instead of arguing whether or not gamespy cares?

Geezus, sometime i wonder if people actually do care anymore. Seems all they care about is their own opinion.
