Anyone here attend LAN Parties?
Well the reality is you NEED a computer, if you don't have one either you can just hang or hope that something will come up.

A lot of lans I've attended Thunder are "one day" events, 10am-10pm as such. You might want to try this also, it works just the same - And if they are more often, 1 day is fine. Usually LANs don't come around very often, which is why they make them as long as possible. The resources and work that's required for large 3-day events is something that will give you a headache. Keep it small, average, and don't stretch it out too much. As for the venue, well there are plenty of small halls, or heck, even at college, that you can rent out for the day for cheap. The best place to check is your local paper - It'll list all the "hire" locations. Hotels too are good venues because they've got everything you need !

Btw Stunatep, girls do come to LANs too. Gee, theres nothing like seeing a chick playing Descent, it beats any other game on LAN by far. ;)

16 port switches! ;7

problem is, they're 140+ (8 ports are 123 bucks at circuit city)
Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. As a matter of fact, I can also define science another way: Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts. - Richard Feynman
