Why ? My GF is the only one that sees my computer on a regular basis and she only cares because it's tall enough to use as a nightstand :P
Seriously thou ,.... why do so many ppl put $ into silly **** like lighting up the inside and all that ? I can sort of understand for ppl that do LAN parties alot ,... ego tripping and all,... but if the damned thing never leaves your desk,...why waste the $ ?

eh... :nervous:
Well its an intresting hobby. Yeah, i could spend my money on more useful things - well, beer mainly - but its something to do, something to be interested it.  Atleast you can be pleased with your own work, even if theres no body around to show it off to.

He's right - cars are modded, why not computers? And to that end...

As you can see, brand swanky new Antec case (Plusview 1000 AMG). Inside, a blue cold cathode - 2 LED blue lights and the Aerotech Phantom (tri-LED) heatsink on the CPU. The rest is pretty stock but for the time being - it shows off enough without making it to expensive! I'll be modding the case in various ways but thats it for now.

yeah, I quite agree there; very few, if any, other people are going to see the computer anyway. And this lighting stuff is not cheap either; you could easily buy a newly-released game with that money. The only case mods I have made are slots for fans, but that is intended for performance.

Yuuuuuuuuuup, and what's funny to me,...i've got the exact same Case Thunder has up there, without all the glowing holes mind you,...yet some how I've got half the rat's nest wiring going on.

Which is odd since I'm running on my old spare motherboard (AOpen AX-6B or some****) which will only access the processor if the CPU fan is plugged in,...and my 800mHZ doesn't have a built on fan,...so I juryrigged the old 333's fan -read plugged it in and wedged the damned thing somewhere out of the way of the 6 fans :D

But anyways ,... It's your thing to do I guess  to me it's about like having a custom decorated toilet ;)

It looks cool, but i think it's a waste of money to put in fancy light and transperant side panels:) All i need atm for my PC is some more ram, round cables, New burner and a 3 extra case fans.

But no fancy light they generate heat:D

I just think it's a nice touch - I do go to LAN parties and lets face it, instead of one latest game I've got something that's with me for a hell of a lot longer than most games replay value. And it is a question of value, I've spent a lot of money on the inside of this thing and I enjoy the chance to light it up and show it off - even if it's only to myself.

Fetty - there's nowhere else to put them... nowhere behind me that is...

I suppose yeah, custom cases don't get shown off so much as a customised car or whatever - but heck - it's up to the individual. It's also something of a hobby to some I guess.. seeing what crazy things can be done with a simple stock case and so on...

Edit: Oh and my case comes as standard with the side panel - that's one of the reasons I chose it.

Woot! Gotta love my case. It's impossible to take apart other than the cover panels. Everything is totally welded together so when I replaced my motherboard I had to stick my hands through spaces I didn't even know I could fit into. Came out with a lot of scratches and bruises.

As for case mods... uh, I ripped off a stupid metal panel that for some reason was welded in front of one of the drive bays making it impossible to use, if that counts. :p

Well spotted ;7

That's actually Buddy Christ from Dogma, next to it is the Cheshire Cat from American McGees Alice and on top of the CPU is a random 18th present from a friend (yeah, a sunbathing banana).

I've also got Alice herself and Keneda + Bike from Akira, but they're elsewhere in the room!

All of that BARELY redeems the fact that you have a Limp Bizkit "Significant Other" poster right behind your monitor though. :)

Yeah, I'd like to defend that point - I like the artwork. Honest truth. I used to like the band in their 3 Dollar Bill and indeed -  part of Significant Other days, but the new stuff is ****e and I don't like that at all.

The poster is there for the pretty colors, not the band :)

I was joking. Pretty much everything you wrote is scarily the same as what I would have written about myself.
