 ow that's very laughable :D sounds like a child who is angry coz another one didn't lend him a toy :p
btw, do they think it'll have an impact or anything? for once, most french don't know the english name for "french" fries ( for those who do talk enough english, well, they've learned it was called fries, not french fries, I know about that "french" part thanks to the net :doubt: ). Finally, afaik, french didn't make the first fries ( maybe I'm wrong but I doubt it ), so it was just... well, nice to call 'em htat way :D

yeah, in france, it's "pommes frites", well, if you're from on of the oldest generations. pommes stands for "pommes de terre" indeed ( des "patates" :D ). But now, about everybody just calls them "frites", which is quite wrong on a gramatical level and must make academicians crazy :D
that was very exciting isn't it? next time I'll talk to you about beans :p

This sounds too funny to be reality, sad thing is that it is
Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. oh, ok. we have soldiers in Ivory Coast to protect the french people that lives there, it's been agreed that we wouldn't interfere with either the government or the rebels. As a proof we aren't forcing everything, both the Ivory Coast gvt and the rebels agreed to come to Paris ( wonder why we offered that anyway, the outcome was so easily predictable  ), and signed a document with several agreements. they read it and agreed, and signed. then back to their countries the rebels claimed they would follow some parts of the document, and disregard the rest. the gvt decided the same a few days later, iirc. well, fine, we tried to help, they don't want to, we didn't force them to respect the treaty. We DON'T take part in the conflict in any way, we're just there to protect our own people.

In Soviet Russia, Freedom Fries eat you.

Anyway, still a stupid idea especially considering it was Belgium that invented chips anyway.

However it does make me feel rrrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaalllllllllyyyyyyyy good about myself that there are a LOT of people in this world that are incredibly stupider than I. :)

Well considering I'm doing it from memory, thats pretty close:)

Hehe, just about the only person who can take this seriously is an American (and not many of those take it seriously either).

Technically, everyone not in the Soviet Bloc had a problem with Russia then, because if you didn't have a problem with Russia, and didn't become essentially a colony of it for protection, the US would be more than happy to have you assassinated and replaced with someone who did have a problem with Russia.

This isn't the first time we've done this.  We changed the name of hamburger to salisbury steak back during WWII.  There have been several other instances that we've done this, but I'm too high to think of them right now.  I'm sure it would be easy to search.

But I honestly think we can let this go already and think of other things to talk about.
