Your right about the lighting, but just cause it's a rocky planet doesnt mean it cant have an atmosphere

I used the object subtraction tool in Truespace. I made a cylender and textured it with a damage texture, then aligned it with the diemos and used the object subtraction tool, under Boolean operations. Its quick and effective, though add some extra damage detail, ie girders sticking out.
Some of the little chunks were from object intersections, and some i just made myself.
