No, I go in the professional way - via the roof. Didn't know there was an underwater entrance...

There really is nothing scarier than comming round a corner and finding yourself face to face with a milbot. Or thinking they're offline when suddenly they turn around and rape you :shaking:

You mean through the ventiliation systems? I do that, but you get the haunting blue words of "loading" far too often.

Not on my system :thepimp:

oh, come on,

Everyone gets them, and here it's just daft. You get loading when you enter the vent system, then in another 10 yards when you leave the vent system and enter the sub pen itself.

mm, i never played DX1, anything i missed?

btw, what are the specs, if can run it i might re-order some old Zeraw magazine wich had it on the cover disk.

Minimum Spec (it will not run on this spec)

300mhz Pentium II or Equivalent
Win 95/98
64Meg Ram
DirectX 7
150mb HD space
Some sort of 3d card.

That spec is bollocks.

I had trouble on an 800mhx Athlon, with 256meg and a GeForce 2 MX400!

Also, add another 100mb to that for saved games. The biggest problem I had with DX by far was the size of the savegame files; it saved copies of all the maps in the mission in their native unr format and the result was that individual games could go around 30mb or more. There have been a lot of complaints about this though, so DX2 will probably address it.

Well it's just that particular level; I am not sure why they bothered having an entire map for that airshaft area, as that has to be one of the smallest maps in the game. It could have easily been merged into the "dockyard" or "ship" level sections.

Seeing gunther for the first time was quite frightening for me; I though he was an escaped zombie-mutant-science-experiment(like in timesplitters) :eek2:

I think I managed to save paul, but I don't know how. I sort of just blasted all the MiB and Unatco, as for some reason I had an assault shotgun.

the GEP gun works well for the initial wave at the doorway, I think I switched to assault rifle after that

I think it was so that you wouldn't have anyone following you around, and if you set off an alarm it wouldn't wake up the spiderbots. Fat lot of good it does you.

Yeh, they still shock you to bits, and what's that turbine thing in the vent system, where you jump the gap in the gangway, but you die?

If you successfully clear the gap, you don't die.

I'm sure I die while crossing the gap. Very odd. I'll have to try it later.

I had that once, too. Something like an off explosion. Every other time, though, nothing.

And it's a lot safer an exit point than the big grate, unless you're willing to waste a couple LAMs on mines.

I've told you before: I cheat a lot. Not god mode (much), but the others.

You get hurt very slightly when jumping over that gap but it is nothing significant; it's pretty easy cross over that alive. The spider bots there are more troublesome.

What about one that's standing still? And even if they're deactivated, they'll still give you a shock :)

Anyway... you know that sort of shed in the corner of the subpen yard? The one marked 'danger, millitary bots'? For some reason, I once pressed the button on that... suffice to say I never did it again.

You know a set-piece that's hard to complete via stealth is rescuing the hostages in the Paris catacombs. I mean, I rarely attack more than two guys at once, and only then if I think I can take them out quickly. All the cyborgs, troopers, cameras and the WiB make stealthing ther last bit a right bugger.

BTW, if anyone's imterested, my specs are AMD XP 1.53, 512mb DDR and a GF4 Ti4200, and DX runs perfectly in 1024 with high detail... doesn't like higher resolutions though, even with low detail settings...

Actually, I think it was a little too easy right there. You shoot the poison barrels to gas the troopers, take out the commandos with a few well-placed sniper shots from inside that crack in the wall, and if you really can't get by the WiB you nail her from the top floor with a trank dart and wait for her to come on up- you could practically give 'er a rough poke and do her in by the time the dart's finished with her, which is always well before she makes her way up.

I prefer to stick the TNT crate next to her console, then hide and shoot it when she walks past :)
