Ok on my list of things:
Make sure to mention what is canon and what is fan-written.

Having a seperate timeline of only pure-canon and showing exactly where it is from would be best. (i.e. techroom excerpts showing where the info is from)

Also be sure to use the FS reference bible on Volition's FS website. This includes some facts in cut-cutscenes such as when subspace drive was discovered by Dr. Whiteside, etc.

But overall my biggest thing to say is:
Have one section for "FS fact" and mark down your sources to ensure it is undisputable.

Another section for your fan speculation such as why Talnia was a starsystem and not a "system" in the sense of the Jovian system, etc.
