Imperial Trader was always my fave, with a 20MW laser and a heap of sheilds, it could take on anything.

I was never a fighter or a miner (I always found mining a pain in the ass)  I was a trader, used to run animal skins from one of the sytems you started on (not Lave) the Icy one, can't remember the name, to Barnards star, take agricultural machiney to Sol and then repeat the run in reverse.

I really loved that game, damn shame I can't get hold of a PC version.

Has anyone here played Supaplex? It was a freeware puzzle-like game released around 1990 and was the other one that I spent several hundreds of hours about a decade ago. There was a mac port of it called Infotron which is how I was introduced to the game and some fans made a windows port called Megaplex more recently. Highly addictive and definitely recommended.

not even the windows 95 remake?

I couldn't get that to work either, as it just gives an illegal operation immediately on startup.

I still have my really old pilot file for this; have stashed up some 75 million credits now. :D

They should both be on HOTU. If not just search around on Google since I have seen other sites that have those two, or I can email them to you if you want.

Frontier and Frontier Encounters are both available for £5 each from The Elite Club

Plus you can play them for 30 days to try them out for free :)

The Amiga version is free though so if you have UAE set up you can play that instead :)

Ooh, I've rigged my my laptop as a "old games" comp. Basically, been playing: Monkey Islands 1-3, Quest for Glory 1-5, Space Quest 1-6 and not to mention DIG, Full Throttle, Sam and Max, and Day of the Tentacle. I'll hopefully get Half-Life to work. Then of course the CLASSIC Another World or in some places known as Out of This Word.

I'm a sucker for those GOOD ol' Adventure games....

Oh man, how could I forget, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is also on my "old games" laptop. :D
I have returned... Again...

I had the walkthrough but I never used it until that section. I think it was a case of just hitting the buttons, worked for me. So sad how the guy sacrificed himself for you. I really liked that game too.

Don't suppose anyone played the Turrican games? They were the best.

Kara. I have the UAE version but it's not a pirate copy so the manual check is still active. I tried the shareware versions of Encounters and Frontier but I'm running ME and I'm not inclined to spend five hours installing 98 and all the legacy drivers for DOS gaming. Guess I'll just have to commit it back to memory, though I guess that's not too bad, I can get back to playing Vice City PC now.

Well, how I usually did was that I just pressed all the buttons until I blew half of the arena away and the the only button left was the ejection one. :D

Oh by the way, has anyone ever played the Another World Sequel? HEART OF THE ALIEN?

Weird and Sad game. You play the alien this time and it takes place during and after the first game. Its odd, but has a real sad ending. Only came out for Sega Saturn but if I remember correctily Home of the underdogs has it.
I have returned... Again...

Hell YEAH!!! They rocked! Music kicked ass too! Actually quite many of Amiga's games kicked all ass! Lost Patrol was a kickass Vietnam game only beaten finally by VIETCONG. Then there Flood! A cute little green thingy that had little adventures in the sewers. That was KICKASS. And who could forget Star Control!
I have returned... Again...

sorry, couldn't help myself. I just think it's a really cool logo.

Same here; it's too bad that there are very few of those nowadays. My favorite adventure game was probably Mission Critical with its realistic story and excellent immersion. The Dig was a nice one too.

never heard about this one.
you mean you play as the alien that helps the dude from times to times ( I remember something like that, no? ).
rah, another world. the begining of the game is engraved in my memory forever, with the ferrari, the failed experience, then blma, you're thrown directly at the command ( and in a pool infested with tentacle thinguys ), and you get out of the water just in time, and just to face that lion thingy , then...
damn, when I think of it, I don't recall any game that achieved to make the plot evolve that much while playing...
it's a masterpiece if you ask me ( it also brought me a ****ing virus :p )
