SERIOUSLY...! | {The Sandvich Bar} - Rhino-FS2 Tutorial | CapShip Turret Upgrade | The Complete FS2 Ship List | System Background Package

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Is this really that big a deal? I mean, so they can blind gunners/fry optics. But given the time it would take to do that, I'm sure they would be shot at first by either the tank they are attempting to blind or another.

Mmmm, black budget. Do you know how massive the US black budget is? You could buy the whole of Australia with it several times over. :p

Yup. And it's not for killing tanks, it's for shooting down Scuds. Because those Patriots just don't work as well as the army says they do.
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

"as the Army says they do" meaning "at all", of course.

Beh. They're inefficient, inaccurate, haven't worked in a non-rigged test yet, and a fantastic waste of money, but on the other hand they're laser weapons. I mean, DUDE! I'm really torn here...

? should take less than a second for a high powered laser to fry optics ( either mechanical or organic :p )
btw, everybod has laser weapons :doubt:
I even saw an israelian laser tank prototype somewhere on the net.

There's a slight difference between a major first-world nation with a huge ****in' army dabbling in experimental lasers and a tiny jungle-based third-world Communist state possibly actively making use of a functional laser cannon.;)

I mean, I don't like some of their international policies, and I wouldn't want to live there, but Razor takes it to ridiculous extremes. And he thinks he's funny when he does it. :doubt: . So don't worry, your confusion is understandable.

I consider myself to quite anti-American at times, but I bury those feeling here because of the high number of American members, for the sake of keeping the peace. Anyway, American people I have no trouble with (mostly), but the govt. and corporations that piss me off.

Razor has yet to learn how to integrate into a society of any kind.

I remember being banned from the PCG forums for violent ranting about George Bush and his "American people should ahve the right to pollute" crap, but now I have learned (for the most part) to keep such sentiments under wraps when online.

Oh so it's my fault that only 1% percent of your brain is working.
I've seen comments that weren't even funny and people just started to spam the thread with LOLs. Mostly, these comments were written by someone "high up". and so people just started laughing madly because of their fear of the high uppers. Like for instance the "Who wants to be a mjolnir?" thread. Oh yeah! What a joke...what a joke.

yeah, but the thing is that this is all it would do. You could fire a missile instead in that time, which would have the same the effect but would fry the rest of the target as well. :D The main application I see with these types of lasers is for intercepting missiles.

I would be ready to put up with that if he actually had any competence and did not show his total ignorance almost every time (and on topics of his choice too); even Bush himself could do much better. If you are going to start fights all the time, at least make your arguments solid so that they actually present a challenge. :D ah well, he is "about to be hammered" anyway. :D

well, if your read closely, you'll notice intercepting missiles is exactly what it seems to be supposed to do ( analogy to the russian antimissile missiles ;) ).
anyway, destroying the targeting system of a vehicle renders this one about useless. even more if you make the pilot blind :p.

CP: A pilot can't see, you've got one crashed plane/helicopter. Same effect as launching a rocket, only nearly untraceable, at the moment legal, and reusable.

Razor: Yeah, those admins. Can't trust 'em, they've got everyone on the line. People who don't laugh at their jokes, you know, they take 'em into the back room, and they're never seen again.

Can also see into your mind using the electromagnetic waves from your monitor, tell if you're thinking bad thoughts about them. I got 'em foxed, though, I took some tinfoil and wrapped it around my head, they can't penetrate that...

Wow! I am impressed. I didn't know that some people around here have brains. When I saw that: *eh...who is someone "high up"?* I thought: It's over. This guy totally went down the drain.

Take a look at this place if you want to read something interesting. I especially liked the article about the beer brewery opening up in Peyonyang.
