Okay, so I've come to realise that asking you people to find me decent music is like asking the Pope not to **** in the woods. IE, utterly fruitless.
So, I've taken to a new approach. Telling you people what to listen to.
I've been expanding my music collection and have come across some quite interesting, disturbing and awesome things:
Songs To Get:[/u][/i]
- Kirsten Dunst[/u] - Dream Of Me (from Get Over It)
- The Eagles[/u] - Desperado (awesome song)
- Van Halen[/u] - Jump (awesome song)
- The Simpsons[/u] - Homer at Gun Shop (funny)
- Star Wars AOTC[/u] - Across The Stars (that one they keep showing on Classical FM TV, awesome)
Interesting Things:[/u][/i]
- The Cheers Theme[/u] - I'm not sure if it's down to a parody or wether it's the actual song, but there's a file on KaZaA called 'Theme - Cheers (whole song)' and it's pretty ****ing funny. Stuff about "And your husband wants to be a girl, be glad there's one place in the world......".
- 'Bring It On' Sound-bytes[/u] - There's some pretty cool stuff floating around from this movie, the best of which has to be "I'm sexy I'm cute I'm popular to boot". Very funny. Go get it.
- Bob Dylan[/u] - His most notable songs include the universally recognised Knocking On Heavens Door and Mr Tambourine Man, but get anything you can by him. He is t3h-sheit.
- Johnny Horton[/u] (at least according to my copy) - Has a song called "The Ballad Of The Alamo" which tells the tale of the fall of the Alamo. Very good song and heroically informative. Get it.
- The Rat Pack - Enough said. Sinatra, Martin etc. Get everything you can.
Disturbing:[/u][/i]
- Johnny Cash[/u] - Has some awesome songs. Most notably, the Rawhide theme. But his best song by far has to be Cocaine Blues. It tells the story of a guy who got mashed, killed his girl and went on the run, periodically snorting cocaine. Very good song and pretty funny compared to all the modern crap. Get it.
That is all.
