But then, that'd be too subtle a distinction for your only mildly damaged brain. There's a difference between fast food and cheap food. Cheap food is, basically, ****. Doesn't have to be a burger, or anything else. It'll kill you, and it's vile.

I don't care if somewhere in your demented imagination a McDonald's burger is the apex of coolness, it's basically recycled garbage, and I don't like that ****. But then, I suppose it's "kiddie" if I don't wanna get twelve kinds of cancer and 400 pounds scorfing down deep-fried waste meat. Why don't you just go cram a prepackaged and heated piece of **** in that big mouth of yours, shut up, and go watch 11 hours of your favorite soap opera or something, eh?

And another thing. I am right, always and absolutely, because I take five seconds to think through what I'm saying before I talk and read posts before I say something fatuous that's gonna piss of one of the thinking people around, unlike the likes of you. And if you have a problem with that, then see end of previous paragraph, butterball.

Fool.

heh? all that for an "image" ( dunno how you say that )?
I never said you didn't like hamburgers, and, oh well, see, I'm too lazy, so live with the fact I won't explain :p

about tha macdo stuff, funny thing, they're much better than they used to be, here in france. before, the bread was, hmm... paper at best, and now it's real burger thing. lot of challengers in france for fastfood stuff ( and not ony the hamburger / coca deal ), so I guess they had to improve their thing :D

Incidentally, McDonalds burgers are, literally, full of ****.  There was an e-coli case a few years back in the US, which was attributed to the burgers being undercooked - the e-coli came from feacal matter which got mixed in with the meat at the slaughterhouse (cows get scared, presumably).  The point being that the crap is always there, it's just normally cooked - killing the bacteria.

Incidentally, I once worked at a McDonalds (for 3 whole shifts before quitting - a record I've been told  :D ) - and I struggle to see how anyone could be so monumentally stupid as to undercook a burger on a grill which is completely automated.  In fact, the only difficulty I can remember was cleaning the grease (layers of it) off the top & bottom of the grill tray, which inevitably involved dripping, boiling grease, a plastic scraper and 3rd degree burns on my arms I tried to reach inside the bloody thing.......

Well, its not 'cos they're scared. Its because once they're hanging upside down dead, a guy has to remove thier bowels and stuff. Generally this should be done carefully, because if it is not, the said stuff bursts and **** gets sent everywhere. Ergo - **** gets onto the meat.

Now to make a point, this is not an issue in the UK due to stricter controls.

Yeah I think that north americans are really missing out on alot of foods. What I mean is all those European, home-cooked, delicious meals. In Europe (which is from where I draw my experience, its probably like that in other places too) people actually consider food to be worthwhile doing right. If you go to Italy or Germany or even Yugoslavia (we've got some food items that everyone should try, and the best breakfast pastries in the world imho) you'll see that people love the food. They take time to make it right, and its always good to eat. It quality and oppossed to the quantity of burger 'n fries or pizza.

As for Japanese cooking, like most of their culture I dont understand it. It just seems kinda gross to me, and it would take some long arguing to convince me otherwise. To me, it falls into the same category as Tartar-steak or fried frogs...bleh

I agree with Rictor but only to an extent.
Many European foods are under-appreciated in the rest of the world, but the Americans have some nice dishes too - mainly thanks to thier cattle country. ;) (Then again I'm biased - I like Steak)

The E. Coli thing isn't limited to McDonald's- fact, I'm surprised they even get it there. Pretty much any butcher shop has bad enough standards that you can get E. Coli from eating their meat uncooked- you can also get trichinosis, as they grind up pork and beef in the same tools without cleaning them. 'S why you cook the stuff so heavily, and partly why McDonalds burgers are processed beyond the point where they are recognizably biomatter. We haven't gone all that far since the days of The Jungle.

And it depends on where you go. You can usually find "ethnic" restaurants or whatever serving old-style European (or whatever) food in cities, it's just not the majority in the US because, well, it's the US, not those countries.

I didn't mean Euopean foods, I meant like "good" food. Even when they try to do good food, its usually just not "right". I dont know if I'm getting my point across?

Its like the difference between...New York and Prague.Look I dont kno how to put it any better than that. And Stryke, you were the one who was complaining that people dont want to try things (like that crazy Japanese cuisine) so dont tell me "its not like in Europe cause its not Europe, its a different paradigm". I mean like quality wise, food is taken as one of life's pleasures and is prepared to be thoroughly enjoyed..

Actually, steak's one of my favourite meats... hmmmm :D

Oh, by the way, does anyone here (presumably talking mostly to Americans) regularly eat Krispy Kreme donuts? They just opened a branch up over here, I've tried a few glazed ones, they're addictive...

paella kicks arse

To be honest, i vastly prefer Italian (pasta, especially tagliatelle) and Chinese food over British.

Australia's great. What's better, if you come over with a few thousand US dollars, you'll be a millionaire over here. :D
