Anyway, I didn't know there was any hype - a mate gave me a compilation he made, and I liked the song.

Pitchshifter were great, 80sMB-LD are pretty good too, though they're a bit close to "garage rock":ick  for my liking...

Another cool up-and-coming band are The Clams - almost Sabbath-esque on some tracks....

Haven't heard of The Clams, I'll have to check those out, have you heard the 80'sMBD (abbbreviated for ease) album or just the singles? Because I personally wasn't all that keen on them but a friend played me the album and it's fucking great, some real heavy stuff on there.
