I was wondering if it would be possible to make a rail gun for FS2? Possibly make a white or a blue beam and place some rings around them? What about use as a regular weapon?

You can add rings on a missile trail, and overall have it behave as an ultra fast Shivan Super Laser. (or Nial gun)

But the Quake 3 railguns don't have a trail

I was thinking more on the thoughts of a mass driver like in D3. It's the same thing as a rail gun. It has a small smoke stream that is in the center and then some smoke rings outside the center forming a cool little trail. I was thinking of this as a new alien weapon that is specific for something I'm working on because the GTA doesn't have it yet in FS1 but they eventually adapt in FS2 with the maxim gun.

The, the, the... damn... the Avenger? The gun you get right after the ML-6, the one that is said to have been modified to make it more effective against shields. The tech description sais it fires 30mm rounds at the enemy.

IC, I didn't think it was a mass driver by any means. Mass Driver is just another name for rail gun pretty much. I'm just looking for one big gun that has a big trail that can be used on fighters.

Make one....took me 10 minutes to do the trail for the one on TBP.  I could probably make a better one now...

Mass driver=railgun=gauss cannon (sometimes, some gauss cannons in some games are energy based, like Half Life)
