He posted pictures of Wing Commander fans supposedly destroying something or another Freespacey... was hard to tell from the pics, and it wasn't anywhere nearly as dramatic as the full-blown documentary they had going last year (which I found mildly hilarious, to be honest).

Anyway, he was, erm... contacted.... by an admin where the pics were hosted, and, ahh.... asked... to remove the remote linking pics, because of the bandwidth drain, etc etc.

I myself find amusing how they assume you can't enjoy both games... Specially considering that we host even here a total conversion project that's working to bring the Wing Commander universe into the - much better and more versatile, especially considering the source code project - Freespace 2 engine. I myself like Wing Commander almost as much as I like Freespace.

Seriously though, I always preferred FS2, but I AM looking forward to the WC conversion. I played WC3 which was all video and very little game, but I enjoyed what there was

it's more funny than offending i think.  i mean, i remember the last one.... (last year?) there was like 50 pictures of them doinga ll sorts of things to Freespace and other space combat simulation games.  they were blowtorching it, putting them in bathtubs, using the FS box as a doorstop.  it was hilarious!

Meh, the whole things very funny - the fact their community is so closed off to the thought of anything else is merely comedy to me, if they want to burn things - let them - it's their money they're pissing away. At least most of us have the emotional maturity to enjoy what we want  to instead of making a rather poor point by burning other games. We know FS is great, we don't need to break CDs to prove it!
