"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. Are you talking about the old school "Drunken Master" with Jackie Chan when he was young?  or the newer version?

does anyone here have the DVD/Screener/etc.?  cause it's awesome to go back a few seconds and watch parts over and over and over again.

i watched the first fight scene (between Neo and the three agents, at the meeting) about 10 times in a row, and the music is PERFECT for the fight.

It's probably going to have to be the Burly Brawl, if I'm forced to  chose. But Morpheus fighting the Agent on top of the truck was rather 1337 as well. He'd obviously been practicing since the first one

I refuse to vote, as the whole movie was essentially one long action sequence.  The fight scenes were good, but they were too long.  Like the one where Neo fights Smith (and Smith, and Smith etc) after talking to the Oracle... there was no reason for that fight scene to be as long as it was.

Er, that was part of the cool value. It went on and on, with neither side showing much sign of wear, and you realised just what it would take to bring Neo down. Or something. Ah **** it, I'm going to bed.

The sequel to the old (and fairly painful) "Drunken Master", called  "Legend of Drunken Master".

I'm not exaggerating when I say that what he does in that movie is so far beyond anything Matrix / Crouching Kitten, Hidden Lizard / Jet Li ever did that it's not even funny. ;)

Chateau all the way! That music is still eating my brains...

The multiple Smith fight kinda looks even better but is way too unreal. Even for the Matrix. Not my taste.

Ok, to set the record straight:

There are 2 Jackie Chan movies with the words "drunken" and "master" in the titles. One, the first (when Jackie was fairly young), is called "Drunken Master". It's not all that good a movie.

The second one, called "Legend of Drunken master", is da b0mb. :D

wrong, there's Drunken Master, Drunken Master 2 ,and Legend of Drunken Master

You probably never heard of Drunken master 2 because it was never released in the US.

Drunken Master 3 was a dead loss in my opinion, so i didn't mention it.  however it does exist.

Matrix 0\/\/NZ!!!

The fight with the Agent Smiths was a bit too artifical-looking.  Smith wasn't fighting like the Agents normally do; he was just trying to overrun and grab Neo.  That sequence could and should have been a lot better.

The staircase battle was pretty good, but I liked the Freeway Chase more:

'You're not done yet.'  *drives around to front of truck* 'Go kick his ass.'

Anyone played 'Enter the Matrix'?  It's played from the PoV of Niobe and Ghost.  And if you play as Niobe you get to drive the car during the Freeway Chase...  Damn good game, but it's a bit short.  It does explain a lot of the second film, especially the very end, when Neo stops the Sentinels.

In 'EtM', the Oracle makes a very important observation: 'The truth is, the path of the One is made by the many.  If one fails, all shall fail'.  I can't wait for Matrix: Revolutions to arrive.
'And anyway, I agree - no sig images means more post, less pictures. It's annoying to sit through 40 different sigs telling about how cool, deadly, or assassin like a person is.' --Unknown Target

"Bill Gates avoids it at every possible opportunity?"

ETM was absolutely awesome. Focus moves are fantastic. Graphics were supperb. Fighting agents does really give you a Matrix feeling, and the fighting against multiple Smiths is too awesome. Burly brawly. ;7 Also, hacking...great stuff. Anyway, since we are talking about hacking...did anyone notice what program did Trinity use in the movie to hack the power grid?

I especially like Smith's line when he encounters Niobe/Ghost in the hallway

By the way, Anyone saw the movie scene with Persifonie and Niobe. ;7
