For those of you who care about OFP, I saw this on a few OFP sites.

Quote
As some of you already know, OFP 2 has being officially delayed until at least 2005

Marek had this to say:

The most of work is just behind us, however we have been working on the game for the whole year. Today, we know for sure the game won"t be released next year because there are tons of work and our plans are very ambitious.

Oh well, it gives time for the big mods out there to finish

I am, understandably, annoyed.

Indeed, and they say "at least" 2005.

What the fark are they playing at? I've been awaiting this game for ages, and now they delay it. BAH!

It is when the thing was meant to be out early next year, and has already been in development for ages.

  • Oh
Battlefield Vietnam is more MP than SP and has (Mig-21;7 ...)

OFP is better SP i think

Thing about Flashpoint was that it was too good a simulation of war, ie. you run around having no clue what was going on and then you get killed. The guy sitting next to me on the truck, indistinguishable from all the other Matt Damon look-alikes, screaming at me in a hideously over-enunciated american accent didn't help either.

I got to the 'Major gets ambushed and needs rescuing but he's already dead' mission before packing it in and going and playing FreeSpace 2 instead

Hmm, I can agree with that. I was never really that keen on the SP, until the tank missions started.;7

But MP rules, what with all the mods and whatnot, notably CTI.

I got to the part where you have to escape from the woods. Oddly enough, before that, my entire squad survived, but in that mission, they were all dead :wtf:

Anyways, OFP was pretty damn ugly, and it wasn't too exciting to play. Hopefully the sequel will improve on both fronts.

Oh yea, and that wierd bug where you crashed an A-10 into the water and it bounced on forever.

Ugly it is, but that's made up for by the level of detail, IMO.

The A10 bug was fixed in one of the first patches, and now that it's reached v1.91, most bugs have been ironed out.

As for it being not too exciting, it all depends how you play it. Admittedly it's not been exciting in the way that, say, UT2003 is exciting, but it's tense.

Anyway, enough of that, I'll not try to make you like it, as I'm not on a commission.

The first OFP was in development for ****ing years and you expect them to drop the sequel out of their ass? I'd be grateful for the delays because unlike some *coughEAcough* developers they're willing to delay it to make it the best it can be.
