anyways, I'm about as poor as you, but I get to lend money from my country. haven't got anything left this month. had I had a job, I'd have donated some moneys.

a credit card it not required by paypal - you can have just a checking account

I get loan money too - but it all goes to tuition, housing and books :(

and i don't get anymore until next january

I've tried - it won't allow me to verify me address (and therefore send/receive payments) w/o either an American bank account or a credit card.

Actually, it may just require some certain numbers off a check from said bank account, but that doesn't help me any.

Which means nothing. Certainly not that I'll show up at your door with a fat envelope of $20s. If anything, it might be a begging tin. Anything but money, I can do. Money, and things that lead directly to money... not so much. Else I'd actually have that tank up and running by now.

And yeah, CR is a ghost town, innit? I tried to get work there, too...

I called allot with people i know and with some bungholes from work to let them pay my sallery, that effort costed me more then i got. But i'll manage.

Is there not some sort of hardship loan available in the US?  Over 'ere, the Uni keeps a spare wad of cash for emergency assistance.  thankfully I've never needed it so far........

Well, I didn't say before because I've only been here about a month or so. College and all, which explains why I too am freakin' poor. Have to arrange something sometime, though- scare up a bottle of Stoli, watch the corn grow, something like that.

Anyway. Sooner or later my repair work'll start actually paying, I'll send some cash off. That could be a few days from now, or it could be a few months. Have to see as it comes (kinda the problem with freelancing- you're always employed, you're rarely paid), but gotta keep the resident codeslinger up. :D
