It was humanoid... sure it had the longer head, the clawed hands and (I think) the tail. But it was to far to the human side of the spectrum. Looking back on what I said I'm inclined to agree with an0n, the majority of the film was fine, but deteriorated into crap with the human/alien crossover.

Now Predaliens.... that might be an interesting film concept...

I never understood what people have against alien3. It's as good as the others, and I love the two first movies. I agree the 4th one is somewhat flawed. With Ripley's death in alien3, it was the perfect occasion to start anew, using the unexplained elements from the first and second ( director's cut ) movies ( the derelict ). But no, they had to get the ***** back. The movie was a pleasure for the eye, but a bane for the story.

HIG, you're comparing apples to oranges.  Freddy vs. Jason was a spoof on a horror movie at its best, since no one has taken that genre seriously in what, 15 years?  Alien vs. Predator, on the other hand, is a classic arcade game, somewhat referenced in Predator 2 (with the xenomorph-like skull on the predator ship) and which is not nearly as stupid.  There's more chance for a plot anyway.

As for Alien: Ressurection, the whole idea of a "hybrid" is somewhat messed up.  The aliens in that series, refered to as Xenomorphs in several points, already take on certain attributes of the host they grow in.  The one in Alien 3, for example, grew in a dog and was more canine in the way it moved (at the cost, we assume, of some of its intelligence).  So mixing that with Ripley should have produced your "standard" alien.

Though it's rediculous that nobody would notice a sodding huge Alien Queen hanging on for dear life to the back of a dropship as it bounces through a nuke blast!

Which raises another interesting point... the Alien Queen can survive deep space (since she clung on to the dropship between the planets surface/Sulaco. She got blown out into space but didn't die. I wonder where she'll land...

Paul Anderson. The dude who made Resident Evil ( shivers... ) and Die Hard 2 ( hah! ). So go wonder, it can be cool, or lame.
I tend to think it'll be the later, sadly. Aliens on Earth during the current days, for me, it's a no-no, anyway.
Oh, and my geek note of the week: altho it's obvious the skull in predator2 is supposed to be a xenomorph skull, it's inacurate as the eye holes are not placed at the right place "sigh".

Alien eyes are placed at the same... place as ours. Take the neborn from Alien Resurection, that's about the normal face of an alien, execpted they have a transparent cranium above the face. The eyes are clearly visible in some shots in the first movie, and I have a book ( Giger's Alien ) where they show the alien "suit" being made. The thing is built around a human skull.

I'm gonna go see this, regardless of the reviews. Aliens and Predators are so freaking awesome I'm willing to shell out the money just to see them duke it out on the big screen.

I wonder who's being cast? I'm pretty sure Arnold, Glover, and Sigourney aren't touching this.

Wasn't the Sulaco sitting in the upper atmosphere.

And even if it was in high-orbit, people can spend around 15 seconds in space and live through it, so I'm guessing the Queen could spend a fair few hours scurrying around in a vacuum before it started to do any real damage to her.
