You do realize that "shut up unless you can do better" is logical gibberish, yes?

Macross Plus was a great sci-fi movie, the Macross TV series pwned as well (the movie version of it was a travesty).

*notes to himself to get the Babylon 5 DVD set so he can see what everyone's going on about*
Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. As a matter of fact, I can also define science another way: Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts. - Richard Feynman

And that's different from almost everything you post to these boards how?

Are you so ashamed of your own choice of favourites that you don't want to hold them up to public viewing? You couldn't even be bothered to post your own list of favourites. Your only ability was to disagree with someone else.

I didn't like SIL either, I think it could have been done better.

but, my top three scifi favorites in no particular order becase I like them so much there is no reliable measn by wich to measure:

Babalon 5 (didn't like season 5 very much, but that's becase most of what was suposed ot go into s5 went into s4 so there wasn't much left to do + TNT fuxoing)

Invader Zim - I can't beleve only one other person listed this, its quite posably the greatest works of comedy ever made, and exelent action

SG1 - yes we all love SG1, becase it rocks so much, we still have to wait three more months to see what comes of the new army of geneticaly modifyed human/goa'uld woriors, I think the altering of actual goa'uld may have been the reason for Anubis' origonal banishment

and in a good but defanant fourth ST:DS9-who wouldn't like the story of WW2 told with huge ass ****ing spaceships of doom!

I'd like to register a vote AGAINST SG1. I consider it one of the worst things in television science fiction history. Its right next to Voyager and Andromeda. Absolute crap.

You know, dude, that's the best guess I've heard so far as to Anubis' "unspeakable crimes".

well it's prety simple, what would be an unspeakable crime to a race that uses people as slaves, tools, and entertainment, and considers it'self to be gods
well they wouldn't give a damn about anything he did to humans, wouldn't give a damn about what body count he racked up, in fact it would probly make him more popular, but once you start turning the gods them selves into play things, once you defile the mental image of self perfection, you have crosed the line

Yeah, that's pretty logical. :) I'm sad though, RDA is appearing in less and less appearances, and if everything rumoured goes ahead in Season 8, we'll probably see hardly any of him. I wonder how they're going to screen Atlantis and S8 together without... I dunno. Wait and see, I guess.

It's different in that I actually try to make logical sense when I argue. If you can't understand my arguments, that's your problem.

And for the record, my favorite sci-fi series are pretty much the same as everyone else here, and hence redundant to ennumerate. Stargate:SG-1RedDwarfInvaderZimDS9Babylon5(seasons1-4)TNGBladeRunnerDarkCityadda yadda happy now?

Oh yeah, and Quark. Bet I'm the only one here who remembers that one.

Would you care to elaborate? One of the reasons I enjoy Stargate is that it doesn't take itself too seriously when compared to shows such as Star Trek, (insert incarnation here) etc.

Plus there is an ongoing story arc. Now I'm certain a first impression of the show can be negative, if it wasn't for the fact I enjoyed the movie I would have shrugged the show off as mindless marines v.s. endless army of slug people in egyptian suits. But then there's episodes where they poke fun at that, so unlike Trek/Wars/etc. they do realise their absurdities.

But for some reason, whenever Anubis is on screen I can't help but think that Shadows are going to appear... :p

SG was a lot more serius in the first 2-3 seasons, and I think I liked it better, the show just seemed like a much more realistic depiction of what us contacting aliens would be like, and untill the end of S1 it seemed like there wern't even any FTL ships in exsistance, or at least that it still took an impractical amount of time to get around by ship
