I just bought a GeForce Fx 5200 Ultra and it kicks ass! I can now crank display settings for just about everything. I can run the SCP with only little problems now. Best part, NO MORE CRASHING WITH HT&L! :D:D:D

S3, eh? Somewhere in my room in anti-static bags I've got two S3 2mb cards, a Virge and a 'something else' which cannot be positively identified. I believe once I tried to shift memory from one into the other to try and increase it to 4mb for a game, but of course it failed miserably. Both cards work fine, and they're only two steps back from my current card. Quite a leap each time:
S3 Virge --> Voodoo 3 2000 --> Radeon 9600XT
Which is intriguing considering that you can see the memory increases in powers of two in that from the S3 (2mb) to the Voodoo (16mb) is x8, from the Voodoo (16mb) to the Radeon (256mb) is x16, so following that pattern my next graphics card update is due when they come out with an 8.192 GB card. Can't wait.

8GB of mem.  looks like youre gonna need a 64 bit processor/OS to do that without any special software features

And the lesson is:

the 5200 is a good upgrade if you've got a GF2 or older card.

I had an old Diamond Stealth 24 up until last year. Yep, those 'leet ISA SVGA video cards.......
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

lol...  I just tried to get a S3 Virge to run on my pc with a TNT running also...

For some reason I could not get both cards to run at the same time!  Funny that.

You should be able to, Windows has supported multi-monitors in configurations like that since Windows 98. The caveat is that, while any card can be the primary, the secondary is a little more limited. That was back with Windows 98 first edition, it's probably got a lot better since (you seem to able to use just about any combination of cards these days) but even then, the S3 series seemed pretty well supported in the secondary with the Virge, Aurora and Trio-64V+ all being supported as secondary video cards.

Lol, with my P3 i get 40+ average fps, and i'm using a Ge-Force2 GTS 32mb with full settings...
I guess i'll change my pc next year because P3 has not enough power for video encoding, expecially with the latest codecs...
