Right. I'm back.
All I have to say is... wow.
Hollywood can keep throwing out crap 11 months of the year, if they top it off with a film like this.
I didn't even squeak, for the entire 3 1/2 hours.
Simply amazing.
In fact, I wouldn't have minded sitting another half hour, only to see The Voice of Saruman and the Houses of Healing.
Which brings me to my only gripe with the movie. Sean Bean, who had a 3-second cameo in ROTK got into the credits. Karl Urban, who didn't even have lines got into the credits. Cristopher Lee didn't get into the credits. Even if it'll be fixed in the EE, I'm still pissed. The man has dreamt of playing of role in a LOTR movie, and he doesn't even get into the final credits. I'd be mad too, if I were him.
As for notable moments, well, Bernard Hill steals every scene he's in. As does Sean Astin. If one of them don't get an Oscar, then there's no justice in the world.
Then again, Cabaret got the best picture of 2002, so for some reason, I wouldn't be surprised.
One more thing. Trinity's death sequence in Matrix: Revolutions lasted for about 3 minutes. In the end of those three minutes, people were coughing, speaking, yelling even. I really wanted to cry out and yell "Die already, *****." The ending of ROTK took 10 times longer. No one moved a muscle. It was that good.
"DEATH!!!!"
