Maybe in larger cities. But when the city of Vancouver has a population larger than this whole province........
Hardly anyone here has ever heard of them.

I live in the U.K, couldn't really speak for Canada. That whole album doesn't have a bad song on though so it's definitely worth hunting down.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. Lets see, what did I get for X-mas:

A George Foreman Grill
4 feng shui wall decorations
2 pairs of Alfani leather shoes (one pair black, other brown, different styles)
a pair of faded jeans (bad ass jeans too)
a wrinkled clubbing shirt
a CK long sleeve shirt
a cheap cologne
a Nautica longsleeve shirt (might return it)
a Tommy Hillfiger leather wallet
a leather belt
a box of chocolates
a bottle of red wine (Yellow tail)
a gift wine thing from attorneys I deal with (has wine, cheese, crackers)
And I got myself NIN's "Things Falling Apart" CD

It was a pretty cool year, but I was hoping someone would get me a harddrive or a graphics card.  Oh well, I can't complain.  I didn't really tell people I wanted it.  My family isn't the type to ask what you want.  They just get things for you.  My girlfriend was the only one who asked me and she didn't want to get me a harddrive, telling me that it's not really a gift for me but for my computer (whatever that means).

Well, since where I come from we celebrate New Years instead of Christmas, which is essentially the same holiday except a few days later, my respone is a bit delayed. But I know what I'm getting since I went to the store(s) and picked it out, so here it is:

-Firefly Jacket
-2 T-Shirts
-No Logo - book
-Brave New World - book
-Stupid White Men, and other sorry excuses for the state of the nation- book (wasn't really my choice, but I've got no problem with it)
- another book, can't remember the name right now
-Fight Club - book

Not bad all in all. This year I managed to get a bunch of money right before New Years (very lucky, considering I don't have a job the rest of the year). This enabled me to get lots of cool stuff for the rest of my family which makes me happier than the gifts I've recieved.

...

...

I got a fanny pack. And apparently spent all my food money for the rest of the year on gifts for my immediate family. Y'all suck.

Maybe next year I should ask for something other than that sweet Bulgarian AK-47 clone. Figured it'd improve my chances of getting it, and ten minutes in the workshop and then five with a couple hundred-round drums would make up for my having to eat nasty cafeteria **** for the rest of the year. Bah. Bah humbug.

...

It is a pretty nice fanny pack, as they go, I guess...

A brilliant book. Again, I don't always agree with the man's politics, but he's funny as hell at times.
