It's funny, but also conceivable, as that would be a dead giveaway that he had fallen to the Dark Side.

Which is the reason Luke and Leia were separated and taken as far from their father as possible.
So as through a glass, and darkly

Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

Well duuuh...

My point was, that'd make a hell of a lot more sense then them actually falling in love... if they're onscreen chemistry was any indicator of the true story. :doubt:

Not to mention it'd make things generally more interesting.

So does anyone know what the 3rd movie is going to be?  I've heard it takes place when they already have kids and when he finally turns to the darkside.

Also, Cartoon Network had a mini series called the Clone Wars or something a couple of months ago.  Was that supposed to be canon?  As in, what actually happened between part 2 and part 3?

I saw Return of the Jedi in the theaters on its original release but I was fairly young.  Original Star Wars are classics.

I can see why they would cut off Anakin's hand in the 2nd movie and it looks like a copy of what happened in Empire Strikes Back (that wsa the one, right?).  Vader did it to Luke as kind of a reminiscing of how he himself began to turn to the dark side as it happened to him when he was a starting Jedi.  Kind of like, "you'll be going down my path soon..."  Like Father like Son, sorta.

IIRC Luke's hand being severed was meant to be a 'link' between them (seem to recall Lucas stating that in an interview,...not sure)
If nothing else it was done with Luke solely because of that scene, Vader had to end the fight without killing Luke,...yet leaving him powerless and vunerable at the same time. Vader's arm being severed,....well at least it beats the hell out of the "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" version,...were Luke (While possed by Ben) cuts Vader's hand off,...then Vader still manages to best him in combat,...only to drip over his own flippin severed hand and fall into a pit.

Plus,... severing a limb is pretty much the best way to end a saber duel, in EU there's been about 15+ Jedi/Sith that had one thing or another sliced off.
