Not really, no. However, I'm also know that image sigs slow me (and presumably every other 56 ker out there) down to a crawl. There are still a lot of 56 kers on HLP. Thus, Image sigs are bad. It's that simple.

Well, it's not really under debate untill one of the admins says it is - and so far that hasn't happened. I'm sure you can cope without avatars and image sigs for now...

Don't EVER put in image signatures. I'm begging you. Image signatures add absolutely nothing to the discussion. They just take up a bunch of room and serve to show off just how much people like their current pathetic attempt at photoshop skills. Avatars and user titles are just as dumb, but at least they don't stretch the page vertically like image signatures.

If you're really so bloody concerned with your precious signature, Ashrak, just put in an IMG tag at the bottom of each of your posts. Surely if you're so much damned better with computers than the rest of us as you seem to think, you can figure a way to do that.

Agreed, I count 9 images in Ashraks siggy alone.... Why should 56kers have to play around with IE to accomodate this, especially if everyone decides to do it :(

If it gets to out of hand we can disable image posting on the forums. Which will really screw up the communities ability to pimp models and SCP advances etc. Don't piss around with this.

I don't care - it's not up for debate at this point.

Whacko movie!

Ashrak: Images in siggys are simply not gonna happen. Same reason that custom avatars for the masses isn't happening - they're usually flashy, annoying, and a waste of screen space and bandwidth.

HLP is as friendly as it is partly because of the forced equality of pretty much everyone. And that's one formula that isn't going to be changing anytime soon.

Figured it'd be better to have something a little original rather than the power symbol which is a tad obvious. Anyhow, speculate away!

BWAHAHAHAH!!

And I loved your power symbol - thought it was brilliant!

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. Equal unless you're a former admin, then all bets are off. ;)

Yes, well... we've all seen how Thundifireth's threats to resign from adminship due to lack of time, yadda yadda have come to naught. Methink that if he ever does disappear for more than a week - not due to vacation or some other enforced absence from online activities - then we (read "I" :D) can knock him back to bread-n'-butter status.

But until then, the H4MM4R of 7HUND4R's VVR47H will still haunt the transgressors.

I miss my old crappy GTD Wolf avatar (ph34 Irfanview), but I still have my double title, so I'm fine. Note even the admins have double titles :p
