Think interplay was taken over by THQ, but not too sure...

voltion was taken over by THQ, that's probably what you're thinking of.... I had read about Infogrames taking over Interplay, but I'm not sure if it ever went through.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

U guys keep crying that Interplay sold the rights but then seconds later always say "If that's true..." or "We heard that from..."  Which doesn't mean that it's fact.  What?  Supposedly some person who picks up the phone, who is probably in a room with 50 other customer service reps picking their noses and hates their job, says they sold it and it's fact?  Admit it, guys, no one knows poop on who owns what.  Kazan I think was the only one who looked up the trademark or something and it was still owned by Interplay.

SO.... in the same stroke as saying "we think they sold it," we could then say "I think they still own it."

I think Xellion has the right idea and just wait to see if its BS or not.  Personally? I think it's a hoax.  I can't possibly see why they would just sell a limited amount of copies of a game that's 5 years old and seriously outdated.  Even in financial crisis selling 2k games wouldn't take them out of the red.

I'm just going to wait this out. Probably going to order a copy of the collectors' edition, too, if this is real.

Looking at rates and policies on interplay is like looking at last years newspaper if even that  .

Sending an email to them would get a more precise response and thats what I done a while back. They said we can ship to Australia, of course they gave me the shipping rates and insurance charges which at the time added about US$25... and the aussie dollar wasn't so good and that priced the whole order at about AU$140

yeah, it's always stupid to actually assume that a million dollar company keeps their somewhat newly redesigned site somewhat updated. htf could I have done such a mistake?

whatever

Do any of you care about NEW copies of FS2?

I mean I am sure my company (or rather the company that employs me) would be willing to run oh say 1000 disks  if one of you posed as a retail customer or distributor. After all schoolpop retail associates (j&r music world and the other place) did it!! They ordered 250 new copies to be printed from OUR master copies last october!!!

Ain't that a kick in the ass I will ask my boss that if they ever go bad or retire the master discs that I WANT THEM! now that could be a cool collectable. This set of three discs created thousands of copies of FS2, perhaps some of the very discs you are using right now ;)

I'm curious, since I have only worked there a year and a half, did Interplay order the discs to be created ONLY rom my employer, or were there other plants that produced the cd's???

Someone mentioned that Interplay may not OWN fs2 anymore. IF that IS true that would explain how J&R music world was able to order the NON -retail discs from us without Interplay's permission (after all what's 250 measly copies? not enough for a retail chain, more likely for one small store). The disc created by OUR master copies have printed on them BUNDLED SOFTWARE, NOT FOR RETAIL OR RESALE.. The very act of selling them is a breech of law :) cool huh?

Best part of it all I got 6 brand new sets and numerous replacements for disks 1 and 3 Muhahaha
Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a wide target selection !

Sort of! That gave me an idea :thepimp: maybe there could be an additional fourth disc and at the component install screen of the installation you could add an scp modifications checkbox. Something this big would no doubt be really cool  , if you wanted you could also change the existing cd covers to something more recent. :D

What could you possibly bundle a game with besides a joystick or controller, oh and a graphics card....
