I have big plans, now if only I could see them through.

Uh? Since when did 2000 qualify as old?

The thing I like most about SL is that it has pilots other than gung-ho Americans in it.
How many space sims can claim to have French folk in them, eh?

I think StarLancer as a good game, I love it, cool model, and grafixs, even cool Efects,  one of the thinks I liked a lot was that Space was not that bright as other Space sim, if you see other space sim ships allways are bright, and in SL depending ont the position the ships was from the sun it was dark or bright, cool shadows XF I haven't seen in other games

Yeah but I hate the way it was Europe and America good. Everyone else bad.

Why not have the game with America as the bad guys for once.

Aye, it would make a pleasant change, but then it'd never sell in the US, so it's unlikely to happen.

[color=66ff00]They almost do, it's called 'War in Iraq'. The Americans play as morally ambigous.

Oh, I pity you, the unfortunate, saddled with game sticks.

For those of us that know the cold, sensual, metallic touch of the ultimate game controller--the Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar--its a simple matter of adjusting the stick profile. It only takes about three lines, really. ;)

Code: [Select]

USE JOYSTICK AS MOUSE (11, 2)
BTN TG1 MOUSE_RB
BTN S2   MOUSE_LB

I personally have S1 (the button on the right side of the stick) set up to toggle me between turret, mouse-flight, and free flight. I've considered setting that stuff over on the dogfight switch (after all, they're really just master modes). I even have my throttle controlling my throttle.

Do you have any idea how tempting it is to take that line out of context and stick it in my siggy? :p

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Sandwich I use a "THRUSTMASTER". Its a "JOYSTICK". In fact, this one is a "HOTAS".

Do you really need any more innuendo in one product line?

There's no such thing as too much innuendo. It's a rare luxury product whose primary purpose isn't to make your dick feel bigger.

LOL! I actually wasn't thinking along those lines at all! I just thought that sentence was bizarre. :p

I don't know what these guys were thinking when they named their company, the peripheral class or the peripheral style. It makes me laugh. :)

If its innuendo you want though, should I telling you I stayed up half the night last night playing with my Python so I could make my joystick even more useful?

I bought it months ago for $1.99 and ever since have been trying to port the few cool ships they have (most IMHO are crap). Anyone else have a CTD after teh inro movie when you select singel player campaing?? Anyway I could find any help and from that single training mission you play I figured unless the game play gets better I am not missing anything. I gave up on SL

Hoever I do have all teh cool SL models exported to .cob files but when you extract the textures they are STILL encoded. Not a single one of my image programs that normall can open .TGA file can open these. Damn Microsoft!

Has anyone successfully conveted a SL texture to another game? if so PLEASE tell me how to do so and more importantly TELL me where I can get whatever program I need to links ect.. real useful info not a generalazation. Thnx...

Got Starlancer from EBgames for 2 dollars not to long ago. Started playing and was disapointed by repetative missions and the lack of excitement in the combat. Some of the ship designs were okay though.

Starlancer would have been a lot better if it'd had a proper mission editor.

Starlancer wasn't a bad game, but it could have been really fun with a mission editor and more thorough modding capabilities.
