Since the ranks of course are officer ranks and they adopted the ranks from the Navy (Ensign, Lt. J.G. Lt. Lt. commander, Commander, Captain, Commodore Rear Admiral and so on) Anyway I wonder what they call the crew? On the sea they call seaman i wonder what they call in space? any ranks? I was thinking like this: btw I'm in Air Force ROTC They have different ranks but i know the Navy's
ranks for enlisted (on the capital ships and cruisers) (in Freespace)
Crewman Recruit (training)
Crewman Apprentice (still in training)
Crewman (working on the craft)
Petty Officer 4th Class (working and maintaining the craft)
Petty Officer 3rd Class (engineers or maintenance)
Petty Officer 2nd Class (engineers and etc.)
Petty Officer 1st Class (security or engineers)
Chief Petty Officer
Senior Chief Petty Officer (could be enginers)
Master Chief Petty Officer (could be master of arms)
Of course you guys would know what the pilots or squadron commanders or ship commanders are:
Ensign (could be a pilot or officer on the ship)
Lt. Junior Grade (pilot or officer)
Lt. (pilot or Officer)
Lt. Commander (squadron Commander or 2nd or 3rd in command of a ship.
Commander (squadron Commander or in charge of a Fenris or Leviathan or smaller cruisers)
Captain (Squadron Commander or in charge of the Destroyers as a Hecate or Orion)
Commodore (Commander of the Fleet) I know you guys thought Admirals were the one who coordinated the fleet Commodores are the strategists that command the fleet during the duration of the battle.
Admirals (all ranks command all the fleets) Admirals are the one who think of strategies and decide what goes where and who fights who...They are the elite strategists and on the top of the chain of the command. Disobeying them can mean a court martial and death......or stripped of your ranks.....
That's my observation.....
