So I decided to have a wee game of Op:Flashpoint today, for the first time in many months.  Got out the box, popped upon the case, pushed in the wee thing in the middle to pop out the CD (can you guess what's coming?)...... CD cracked in half.  Just_like_that.

Now excuse whilst I swear profusely...........

ACk!

Now...um...I got nothing...

...**** man. Sorry to hear it.

Game CDs should be tougher than Music CDs IMO.

absolutely, we pay more for them (usually) so it should be kinda logical that they would use better cd's, but nooo...:ick:

at least id didnt shatter in the drive, then youd be screwed. just send the fragments to the publisher with a nasty letter 90% of the time they will send you a new one.

That happened with me. The problem was that it was a friend's RA2 disc.:nervous:

and this, boys and girls, is why you always make a copy of your CD's, and use the copy.

But Flashpoint has that terrible copy protection thing, which makes the game slowly degrade unless you use the original CD.

ugh.

that kind of **** is illegal in some country's, thank god.

Eek, that sucks immensely. Something like that happened to my friend with a Q3A CD, so he just borrows mine, a bit permanently. I don't play it anyway. ;)

Although that could be just a bit of psychological warfare...

Point is, I am absolutely 100% sure there was not even a scratch on that disk - I'm insanely careful with CDs.  Not only that, yesterday was the first time for a few months I've had enough time for a protected gaming session....

Yeah, I made a copy of Opf Flashpoint and the copy slowly degraded.  Went to play with the original and I can't find it anymore :(

Sucks about your CD, senor burrito.

What sort of box was it in? I've come close to breaking dozens of CDs when trying to get them out of cases, simply because the spindle in the middle of the disc imparted too much pressure.
