Flying yellow dots not enough? copy and paste http://timothydavidhess.tripod.com/Impact_Effects.zip into your adress bar, follow the readme, and play your favorite Freespace 2 mission. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised.

I've not tried these in game yet but just looking at them in Aniview they look pretty damn impressive.

I started doing impact effects along with my weapons zip (subach / mekhu = done)

I'll definately give these a look.
