Has anyone noticed the trend in fashion lately, where all the little kiddies are wearing the black clothing chains, listening to the punk bands, etc?
Seriously, I mean, you get people doing this that have NOTHING to do with punk. My little bro is doing it and he's super happy and hyper.
No offense to these ppl, but I think they do it simply because they have no free will, and go with whatever's popular. The sad thing is, they don't seem to realize that there's more to punk than the clothing and the music.
Now, I'm not punk, and I don't claim to be. But it's pathetic that these kids (even some older ones) are simply swept along with what's popular, without realizing what's underneat the surface.

Anyone else getting annoyed at these "False Punks"?

Thank you Bobbau. But I thought that applied to lame white guys trying to be black. :D
Anywho, please don't let this degenerate into a punk-bashing contest, if at all possible.

You're lucky, we have real posers around here (ironic, huh?). They "listen" to rap and everything...

I dress in normal clothing, but still listen to metal and stuff. Being different in my opinion is being different, but not caring if anybody around you notices.

Poser Punks are called "Mall Goths" around here...since they all hang out at the mall..

You can't go wrong with Bad Religion. I saw "21st Century Digital Boy" on a well known, chesty british woman's t-shirt and I went and looked it up and I've ever since been in love with her AND Bad Religion. :) Shame she got married, but I got Bad Religion out of it, even if my heart is broken. ;)

I wonder if what I'm listening to now counts as 'punk' to most other people? *heh*

pop punk is on a die down. I absolutly hate pop punk such as blink 182, freakin sellouts. I dress in all black. I weak a pair of dickeys, a black hoody that says fight racism with a skull. However I am not a little fake punk. I am not a real punk. I do rebel against the world though. I rebel against stupidity of alchohol and drugs, no offense attended to darkage or any stoners out there. Do not call me Xstraight edgeX either, cause I am not.
I will also say that poppunk is on the die down. Unfortunatly more and more peoplw are interested in hXc and heavy metal which means that the great stuff I listen to now is going to get butchered. Example would be the AFI.

Nah, Kaz. Some goths are cool. They're just like everyone else: some suck, some are lame, and some just rock. One of my buddies in Oz is the sexiest, smartest, most talented goth chick on the planet. Of course, I'm kinda biased: she thinks I'm hot (the feeling is mutual). ;)
