the P4's a massive POS from the archetecture on up

[color=cc9900]It's quite hard to say "P4 architecture sucks", because there are just so many architectures. Intel are cleaning up their act now, IMHO. I think they realised that people were beginning to become more educated than just listening to Mhz figures.

AMD is still one hell of a lot cheaper though. Well, if you build your own anyway - I've actually seen some ready-to-run suppliers pricing their AMD boxes higher than their Intel boxes, which even given supply/demand market forces is just plain wrong.[/color]

The only advantage I see in Intels over AMDs is the AMD overheating problem - but even that can be solved with a good TT or Zalman cooler.

They overheat if for some reason the fan shuts off, or someone is stupid enough to take the heat sink off.... Which just about ANY processor will..
