Saw this on the Drudge Report.  Apparently some people in the Netherlands got jewelry studs implated in their eyes!  If anyone wants to read the article, here's the link:

I don't know about you guys, but I was so grossed out seeing this that I felt physically sick afterwards. What would possess somebody to do this?

Some people, including myself, are sensative when it comes to stuff having to do with the eyes, thats all Thorn. Me especially.. if someone tells a story about how they hurt their eye, or eye surgery, or anything.. ughhhh *shudder*

Well, I thought (and still do) the same thing for contacts. It seems unnatural to have something in your eye, cause eyes are especially sensitive, but I guess you get used to it..

Pfffff. I sometimes suffer real pains because of my contact lenses, one really has to be idiotic to put useless stuff like that in his/her eyes. Like those fake lenses to have cat or firey eyes

Whats sick is piercings through the genitals (especially the male variety) And thats been around a lot longer.

Apparently genital piercings can increase pleasure in love making for some people though. I've no idea if thats true or not and I've no intention to find out - but as long as people do it to their own genitals and not mine, they can do what they please!

As for this eyeball thing.. it is kinda creepy. I've spent 19 years being taught not to stick things in your eye / genitals / etc. because it's bloody stupid. Now people are suggesting it as a fashion accessory? Riiight...Well as before, do what you like - just not to me.

Personally, I've always been slightly disturbed by people who enjoy sticking point or sharp things into their body for cosmetic purposes.

Oh - vyper - i'm not sure if there are actually pain receptors in that area of the eyeball that would be affected.  Because contacts are on the surfac,e and this thing is below that level, isn;t it?

And does anyone find it, well attactive?  (because isn;t that the point).

I just think it's ****ing nuts, to be honest.

It could be "cute" in a clubbing environment and so on... but past that I don't think it holds much long term appeal - certainly not enough to warrent it being permenant.
