IIRC, the Unregistered usergroup id is 1, so:

Then in the templates put $bannerad where you want the **** to show up for unregistered people.

i agree. banner ads are annoying, but i can handle them. pop up ads, however, are the devil.

As long as they remain flash based banners in the top of the windows, I've got no complaints.

The moment they become anything more annoying though, I'm putting a proxy server up to strip flash and any banner shaped images out of HLP.

Y'know, seen as any GS people would only be checking for banners from GS offices, I could just make it so the banners only appeared if you were viewing from within the IP-blocks owned by GS.

Then they'd have millions upon millions of pages of code to check.

They probably just run checks to see all php and htm[l] index files and a high percentage of other page-files contain the code somewhere, which the altered PHP file would.

If they'd give me admin, FTP and database access, I could weave a web of deceit so intricate and all-pervasive that as far as GameSpy would know, not a thing would be amiss unless they went crawling through the code. And even then they'd have to scour through dozens of files across multiple folders and servers before they found the oddness.
