Halo, I'm a member of the Squirrels clan, it's so much fun being able to talk with my team and stuff.  It makes Halo a lot funner than it usually is.

It does the same for me. But I do not miss it very much, since the campaign was incompleteable.

I liked Transport Tycoon. Especially the Deluxe version.

Sometimes I do not understand why disks decide to go on holiday without the user's permission. :D

[color=66ff00]I found XW:Alliance to be annoyingly difficult, I got bored and stopped playing.

As I've said before though, I'm not a naturally good games player.

I am just now playing throught the XWA campaign once again. Yes, it is difficult. But I believe I will be able to handle it. ;)

XWA wasn't too bad difficulty wise, except I absolutely hate the last mission's whole obstacale course routine through Deathstar#2. (just like how I hate the last mission of Halo... ugggh)

I absolutly hated that mission where you have all the Tie prototypes attacking your fleet, with the suicice Tie. This one got my patience, I turned a couple cheats on and used about 7000 missiles in this mission :p

A few weeks ago I picked up Deus Ex 2, Independence War 2 and Unreal: Return to Na Pali from ebay; pretty good deal for $35 especially as they were all unopened.

I just finished DX2 and had mixed impressions. The framerate was by far the biggest problem; it is anywhere between decent and terrible, which is hard to understand considering that the game doesn't look all that good. The graphics aren't bad (except for some textures), but a game like UT2004 that uses the same core engine both looks and runs much better on my machine. It definitely feels like it was rushed and the console influence is evident in a number of places (simplified inventory system, no localized damage, unified ammo, etc.). On the plus side, the already great nonlinear gameplay of the original has been made much better and the story is excellent, so it's worth playing through a few times, although I am not going to be doing that with my current hardware.

I probably will be picking up UT2004 very soon as well.

Not really playing many games at the mo - lack of computer (this is my dad's) and exams being the main obstacles.

Only game installed on this machine is Rise of Nations. Pretty good, but basically Age of Empires 3.

I've got the following games on the shelf to play when I get my new puter next month (if the bastards at the Inland Revenue give me my money back):

Far Cry
Splinter Cell 2
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Operation Flashpoint
Rainbow Six 3
Battlezone
GTA: Vice City

I'll also be trying to get SCP to work, replaying Crimson Skies, and playing lots of Looking Glass games :D

Deus Ex 2 was way too simplified.
The small things like actually entering the code to the computer systems and the locks in the original Deus Ex is something I miss in the sequel.
Saying that the game is rushed is almost an understatement, with more time working on that game and polishing it more it could have been much better.
But the story in itself, and the atmosphere of the game, those are good parts of it :)

I don't think more development time would have significantly helped DX:IW. IMHO, the biggest problem with it was the core philosophy-- it was screwed up at the fundamental design level. The designers got this crazy notion that the one thing people liked best about DX was the open-ended gameplay (even though it wasn't really open-ended at all), so they streamlined every other element of the game into oblivion. And then what little was left, they couldn't even get that right! They wanted the player to be free to do whatever they wanted, but they also wanted to make sure the player could never get the game in an unwinnable state. So the end result is a game where you can make tons of decisions, but none of them matter.

To add insult to injury, Alex D is a whiny *****.

Agreed, whatever you actually do in the game just leads to the exact same thing, so the gameplay isn't exactly very open in that manner.

Whiny ***** indeed, I miss the old JC.
Would be much more fun to play him with the Helios infusion me thinks :D

I agree with ZB and Zul on DX2. I tried to actually like the game, but in the end the "open yet closed" gameplay doesn't work as a whole. Sure individual things in DX2 might be awesome, like assassinating a guy in his apartment using various methods and it's a little more flexible than DX1 in *some* of those situations, but the main plot of the game isn't as flexible as it could have been.

Similarly, I think DX2 is a bit too sci-fish of a setting/cyberpunk as opposed to DX1 which seemed attached enough to reality to be more conspiracy theoryish.
