I have to agree with that statement, although I drive a 2003 car :)  I have a new car more for its reliability than anything.  I make ok money, but I don't think I have the money now to be able to maintain or refurbish a classic.  I will definitely do it, though, one day in my life.

Oh... and how do you like this?

With the exception of some of the cars I heard the day I spent at the Network Q RAC rally in Cheltenham a few years back, this is the loudest car I've ever heard.

Gorgeous.

vyper, I like your taste!

As for the FTO... well thats a little odd. You see in Worthing where I live (a little town on the south coast of England... or a shopping mall if you're American).. there's at least three FTOs.. one silver, one black and one red. Not that they aren't nice looking cars - but they're not unique by any means.

Raa Tor'h, perhaps where you live things are a little different - but to me those look like your average company issue Mercedes.... there's at least 7 cars that look like them on company hire in the car park of the company I work for. They're not ugly but they're not interesting to look at either.

Oh, and while it's not the most beautiful car here - it drives like a beauty. I give you the car my family used to own:

The Jaguar XJS.

FTO's aren't unique because they were sold by you. That's like you seeing a Nissan Skyline or Silvia in Japan. On the otherhand, should someone drive a Skyline down the streets in America, it'll get all kinds of looks. They simply aren't available here. :blah:

And despite how it sometimes feels, America is a big place, and it's speckled with areas of extreme wealth, surrounded in a flood of mid-to-lower income areas. I live outside NYC. All I see are BMW's, Mercedes, Jaguars, Porsches, and maybe one or two Vipers from time to time. Should someone drive a TVR (No matter how hideous I think it is) down the streets here, I'll gawk. Same as if someone ever drives an FTO here.

Also, my tastes aren't that expensive. I like the sleek lines f the FTO. I like the 2-litre Mivec V6. I love everything about it. But it wasn't fair that Mitsubishi North America only offered the Eclipse for American drivers. Built by Chrysler, of all companies, too. :doubt:

Ahh, yeah I can see your point now :) To be honest despite my town being a place where people go to die - we do have a sizable collection of interesting cars. Top of the list is a Ferrari Testerosa (Ferrari red of course) and a Hummer. The hummer is impressive since it barely fits down English roads and sticks a full half-cars width out from other cars when it's parked... it's a tank.

I also live 5 minutes cycle from Jon Cooper garages, makers of the famous Mini brand (they do custom jobs and ship them off to the princes of Eastern countries etc).

Hey, I've seen a hummer in my town a couple weeks ago. You have to be confident with your driving skills to use something like that in France, small towns usually have very narrow streets...
If I want to see beautyful cars, I just take a trip to Monaco. The low end cars there are Mercedes, and there's never less than 4 or 5 Ferraris "on screen" (:p ) at the same time. Richos bastards.

In France, with a Hummer, you can usually drive around the town in less time that you could drive through it along the main route.

How long does it take to drive from Calais(sp?) on the coast to the German border?
So as through a glass, and darkly

Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

Huh? Believe it or not, France is not a flat, ownerfree collection of grass grounds. There's walls, fences, trees, angry farmers with rifles, all kind of stuff that will prevent you from going around :p

No idea, never done so, but taking the highway, mmh... I'd say there's about 500Km between Calais and the closest part of Germany, and lots of highways ( so 130 km/h )... 6 hours?

There are a few Hummer's here. I'm not fond of them. They look like a toolbox on wheels to me. Plus, with gas being $2.00 a gallon, it's not worth it.

There are a few exotics here. Mainly older models. You really have to be someone, and probably a narcisist to drive a truly rare car around here. (And pray it isn't stolen.)

Then again, I drive this, so:

I got Dodge Rammed... :(

I know a fair bit, but I don't really want to. I have a stupid, annoying, loud, arrogant exhaust on it, but I keep it silenced 99% of the time.

It's also an automatic, so there goes 40% of it's 146 HP. :doubt:

Still, it's fun. And if I can ever get it fixed, it'll be a looker again.

As it is, it's aweful patriotic.

Lexus is Toyota. Infiniti is Nissan.
So that's moot.

And the Skyline is :blah:, IMO
I never liked it. But I hear it may be coming to America ~2007 as an Infiniti. :doubt:
