Those two are the primary carrier classes of the fleet. The Warlock and Tanen usually try to stay back in a more supporting role. The smaller classes are more up front and sometimes are directly on the frontlines were it may be too dangerous for the larger carriers to go.

The Warlock class provides command for a fleet, and the lenaeus class ships under it command smaller portions of the fleet.

A Lenaeus class is also the players home ship.

So, obviously, the character isn't stationed on board the Independence anymore.
There were originally plans for the character to move to different ships (at some point during the original version of INF, the character was supposed to serve on the Nemesis or Solaris IIRC).
Is that still a plan, or what?

Yeah, you won't be on the Oracle for the entire campaign.

If the player does have a 'character', it's one of an elite pilot who can face really terrible odds and still bring home victory - since the GTVA and EA are on pretty equal footing for most of the war. Plus Inferno is a fair bit harder than FS2...

I considered making the player into a proper character with his own lines etc, a la BWO, but since Inferno's supposed to be a (spiritual) sequel to FS2 we're sticking with the everyone-but-Alpha1-can-talk approach :)

A fair bit harder than FS2? Does that mean easier, same, or harder than R1?

Also, I like the Alpha 1, cant talk approach. When Alpha 1 talks, I think it takes a certain element of integration away from the game. As it seems that FRED is forcing words into your mouth, but then again, it makes developing relationships between Alpha 1 and wingmen far easier.

You'll probably find it harder at first, unless you play on insane.

Nah I just like annoying you lot :p

The staff don't know as they don't need to know. Since it isn't included with R2 and is a mini project that only I am working on.

It won't be of the same exact quality of R2, but it's not bad for a couple of weeks of work while in the middle of the staff patch.

We'll be asking for permanent staff members to do full testing on everything once the next staff patch is out.

We won't be doing mission beta testing for quite some time though.

Some of our stuff looks far better than that now.

Though if you tried that with the R2 mods, you'd probably be down to about 20fps :D

20 FPS doesn't really matter for a screenshot though.  You can't see the 40 Shivan fighters and bombers in that shot either.  The Odin looks fabulous in that shot.
