so are you using an installer for releases of just an archive?

Most likely a self extracting archive, as the installer I use with lzma compression is a bit annoying.

hmm I wonder is they can extract the contents even though it would be a windows format.

It's a 7zip self extracting archive that I used on the new staff pack if you want to try and find out.

Try using 7z and 7za on Linux, they support the format; I'm unsure if they'll extract from a Windows self-extracting archive though.

It's a 7z archive so if 7zip or another Linux program can open those it might be able to open the self extracting version.

The entire point of using Linux is to not use Windows. :p

I've heard in the grapevine that there's lots of emulator programs for linux. I bet one of them could make Inferno run on Linux.

Why? they could probably use the emulator to extract the archive if they can't open the self extracting kind, then compile a set of exes for their build of Linux. They wouldn't need to run the win exes then.

WOW !!!!

The first picture is now my windows walpaper. Very impressive. And nice to see, that you are implementing the 3dshockwaves, too. I was tempted to edit the inferno tables by myself, after getting some "experiences" with the babylon tables. If you need a helping hand, let me know. Keep it on, it feels like this will become a very big thing ;)

I haven't touched the tables for adding the shockwaves, but most ships I've seen explode seem to work fine with them.

The Big Eyecandy Thread (warning: lots of images)
Normally the new shockwaves are too fast with the old values. But i havn´t tested it with inferno. Maybe Dabrain used his "own" table.

Well DaBrain was the one who said to use the current table.

The only one I've found to be too fast is the Raiden so far.

AFAIK the newer builds should work without table changes. They should adjust the shockwave speed depending on the size of the ship.

While this works fine, adjusting the tables by hand is still better.
