Oh, so that's the trick? Wouldn't that reduce the details significantly?
Does my asteroid look like it reduced its details significantly?
From what I understand, just increase the "Detail Distance" in ships.tbl.
I myself have no idea how to use FRED and/or PCS2 to do this.
First, use VPView extract the models from sparky_hi.vp (if I'm not mistaken) to the "models" folder, then:
The PCS2 build in Spicious' signature has transformation functions. You could use those.
When you open up the model, find the "transform" button on the top right. Once in there you'll see how you can scale it along any or all axes.
Then watch as the model gets larger or smaller, depending on how you want it to be scaled.
Then save the model (e.g. Sathanas is labeled as "supercap.POF" or something like that, so if you want to make a supersized one, name it "Sathanas_Huge.POF" or something) into the "models" folder.
Then make sure you have already extracted ships.tbl into the "tables" folder. Duplicate the entry on the SJ Sathanas (if you plan to use the "Sathanas_Huge" model), then, in the .POF file entry, change the "supercap.POF" thingy to "Sathanas_Huge.POF". Then (optional) increase the "Detail Distance" of it so it won't appear bad. Of course, if you're really serious with it, you'll modify the hitpoints, weapons, etc.

The black ship (is it a ship anyway) reminds me strongly of Nero's ship in the new Star Trek movie

(or, is it actually it?).
No offense, but the blue ship looks like it was made in MS Paint. Is it just Wings of Dawn 2, or is it that the modders didn't put that much effort into it?
