"Uh, Sir we can hear the explosion."
"No you can't, there is no air in space. Sound can't travel through a vacuum!"

Now that looks hella fun! In a similar vein, has a top down FS2 shooter (ala 1942) ever been done?

I don't see how sitting it in the Wave Motion Tuning Fork is ever a good idea.

In celebration of getting my new computer, here are some shots from Dimensional Eclipse in 1920 x 1080

Ah yes, quite the enjoyable side project that was. Made it in like one or two days. Kinda hard to get a good grip on the controls, but once you do its kinda fun to play.
T'was more a 'proof of concept' than anything else really. But nobody did anything else with it. Maybe Andrew will do better.

New computers are fun, aren't they, CKid? Welcome to the ranks of those that can play WiH with a decent frame rate  :p

Indeed! WiH was first thing I tried after setup just to see the glory of the opening cut scene. After playing at 1024x768 for several years, words cannot describe how great of a feeling it is to have 1920x1080 (and decent frame rate)

The expectations of my mod have been raised! OH NO!

Steele's way of defeating the Gigas.

Wasn't between the forks meant to be part of it's subspace weapon array (a always assumed it would charge down them)? If so, the moment it charges...

...goodbye Steele... :drevil:

Branched to an Oreoshepsut...

Steele's way of defeating the Gigas.

The Gigas is that big? I never noticed.

Is that black box in the middle part of the original INFR1 model?

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Yes, that black box is well, the wave-motion tuning fork cannon...
in INFR1 it's some anti-planet subspace rift weapon IIRC.
